Planning a wedding? We chat with the new owner of this popular bridal show that’s coming up this week to see what’s new this year.
Kristie Bulach has been a part of the Afterhours Bridal Show with A Bride’s Mafia for 8 years as a vendor. So it only seemed like the right decision when she took over as the owner of the business in November 2017 when the opportunity presented itself.
“I have been in the wedding industry for the past 13 years so this is something that is right up my alley with being a wedding photographer and networking with all of the vendors in the area,” she says. “Even before I took over the business I was heavily involved with getting together models, hair, and makeup for the previous shows.”
Bulach says she’s always enjoyed the planning process when it comes to weddings, so she was more than thrilled to take over ownership of the wedding planning service.
Now that she’s in charge, Bulach says that she’s been focused on making A Bride’s Mafia even better than it was before.
“I have been traveling around to other bridal shows throughout the country and Canada – gathering information from both brides and vendors,” she says.
With all that research in mind, she says she’s preparing a show that is a true experience for guests. “I don’t want our Afterhours Bridal Show to be just your typical expo/trade show,” she says.
“My whole take on the bridal show is to hand-pick exclusive vendors in each category. We find a lot of our vendors are the same caliber, price range, and quality, so you know you’re getting amazing quality.”
This year you can plan on vendors being interactive and engaging at the March 11 event. The Afterhours Bridal Show will be held at Music Hall from 6-9pm and boasts a $20,000 wedding giveaway.
Then, on October 29, A Bride’s Mafia will host another event from 6-9pm at the Summit Hotel
“We are extremely excited about the new concept for our show where we are bringing Pinterest boards to life,” says Baluch. “We are having vendors collaborate together to create these amazing scenes that brides can see at the show to help them make decisions on what type of wedding they are thinking of planning. We have a very high caliber of vendors for our next two shows and are super excited to see all the creativity that comes from everyone.”
