Our bridal columnist shares some of the biggest wedding trends you can expect to see next year!

Bridal Fashion Week is a whirlwind of wedding dresses, champagne, and lots of glam!

Luckily for brides shopping for wedding dresses in the upcoming year, the bridal gowns that debuted during Fall 2019 Bridal Fashion Week brought a fresh batch of trends to the runways.

Whether you are a classic bride, boho bride, modern or glam bride, there was a little something for every bride this season.

While a few of the wedding dress trends that have become classics still remained, such as, the off-the-shoulder necklines, 3-D floral appliques, long illusion lace sleeves, and sheath styles dresses, there were definitely new, fabulous trends that emerged. And, while we know that our Cincinnati bride is still more romantic and classic, the trends you will see fit right in with our timeless aesthetic.

Obviously, with the royal wedding last Spring, Meghan Markle mania reigned supreme as we saw designers reinterpret the Duchess of Sussexs wedding dress and reception dress for 2019 brides.

From feminine bows from our beloved designers, Sareh NouriAntonio Gual, and Anne Barge, to bold geometric patterns at Nicole Spose and Berta, there’s something that any bride, with any type of personal style, would love.

Here is a short list of the new trends you will be seeing in stores very soon.

BOWS! This season, watch out for larger-than-life-bows that act as trains, sweet loops that make the prettiest straps, and metal versions that (literally) tie entire looks together. Bows were seen in every variation on the runways. Making simple gowns look extremely couture, and couture gowns to seem very demure, bows are always an adornment we love.

The next big trend to hit the runways this season are the bold, geometric patterns.  Many designers had played around with patterns and textures that were different from the usual lace.  Nicole Spose is one designer who always had her own take on the geometric pattern which has become a huge hit in the past seasons.  If you are a more modern bride who wants to step outside the box, this trend may be the perfect one for you.

Separates and one-piece styles were also standouts on the runway. We were blown away by a lacey short and sequined ensemble by Berta, and a glitter-encrusted, lace jumpsuit at Atelier Pronovias. These super stylish looks are perfect for your reception at many of our modern venues in Cincinnati.

And one last trend that we still absolutely love is COLOR! Many designers have incorporated color into their gowns in the past, however, this season, all shades and hints of color were on every runway.  Some of our favorite designers to incorporate color into their gowns are Chantel Lauren and Catherine Kowalski.  These two designers are breaking into the bridal fashion scene with their bold looks and gorgeous color laces.  Fun fact is that every designer mentioned in this article can be found in Cincy Bridal.

If you are a bride searching for a gown for your 2019/2020 wedding, you will most certainly fall in love with these new trends for the season!
