Designer Items & More
Fashion Show sponsor Designer Items & More will be showcasing some of fall’s biggest trends on the runway at our Seasonably Chic Showcase. Some of those trends include animal print, bows, fringe, and shoulder pads.
Felisa Insignares, the owner of Designer Items & More, says that when it comes to dressing others in her boutique, it’s about learning about each woman.
“I try to learn what each woman’s roles are and what kind of message they’re trying to convey, and what investment pieces are already in her closet,” says Insignares. “After I have that information, I pull together wardrobe pieces and when she comes in I have canapés and pink champagne waiting for her. She gets a chance to try on the pieces I pulled out for her and we get to kind of learn together on the journey.”
You can visit Designer Items & More at 8919 Brookside Avenue in Olde West Chester, or “like” them on Facebook.
Emily Smith started her business, Miss Em’s, after a business class at The Ohio State University. Today, Miss Em’s is a booming business that attends events like the Seasonably Chic Showcase and hosts shopping events for customers online and in their homes.
What makes Miss Em’s a unique boutique, says Smith, is the price points of her products.
“It’s really my price point that sets Miss Em’s apart,” she says. “There are definitely a lot of other jewelry businesses that do home parties, but they charge you an arm and a leg. I remember going to a jewelry party in college and feeling guilty that I didn’t buy something at a friends party, but I couldn’t afford it while in school. The items were gorgeous, but not really in my budget. I make it my goal to provide everyone with something they can purchase! Items start at $5.00 and are just as nice as things that you’d find in a boutique, large department store or with any other in-home party company. I really want to be able to make people feel good on the inside while looking great on the outside but without breaking the bank! I also typically only get one of each item, so that way people are leaving a party or fundraiser knowing that there won’t be 20 others walking around wearing the same thing. Not only are they getting one-of-a-kind jewelry but they also get to take it home with them once they purchase it. I have women who are always looking for me at events now because they know they can purchase multiple items for the same price as one somewhere else.”
Pretty Please Boutique
Pretty Please Boutique aims to provide women with fashionable clothes that are not only stylish but also affordable. Owned by Angela Walker, Pretty Please Boutique is a Cincinnati-based women’s clothing boutique that’s all online.
Walker says she was inspired to launch her own clothing boutique because of her love for clothes as well as her desire to offer women of all different sizes and body styles a unique way to shop.
“I wanted to be able to offer these women a more unique way to shop and maybe step out of their comfort zone and into a fashion zone,” she says. “I also had a desire to own my own business and possibly have something to leave to my kids or grandkids.”
Prices from Pretty Please Boutique range from $30 to $50, and Walker runs specials and giveaways on her Facebook group.
When it comes to her most popular items – and the ones you can find at our Seasonably Chic Showcase – it’s jeans.
“Right now the hottest items are my jeans,” she says. “They are so figure flattering and comfortable. I also have some very trendy tops with open shoulder, tie knots, and twist details.”

Down to Mars Vintage
Marcie Hon has always been complimented on her unique style. Working at a high end costume shop as a costume designer has given her an eye for curating one of a kind looks. Hon is constantly surrounded by ornate gowns, costumes, and a selection of vintage pieces which has inspired her to create her own business selling high-end vintage clothing, Down To Mars.
Hon has always had a quirky, vintage style and in the fall of 2016, she launched her Etsy shop. She loves searching for gems and hand chooses each of the garments that are sold, setting her apart from other vintage shopping options. Not only are her pieces high style, but high quality is guaranteed. Her experience in the costume store has made her familiar with vintage cuts and sizes, which greatly differ from those of today. She has an eye for visualizing what a piece on the hanger will look like and knows how to personally style her clients.
The brand name Down to Mars happened in one of those epiphany moments while driving. She has been called “Mars” by most of her peers growing up, short for Marcie. “The thought of people referring to a potential store like, ‘Hey, let’s go down to Mar’s’ or ‘I got this down at Mar’s’ was something I always liked,” says Hon. “On a deeper level of meaning, I have always been connected to astrology and my zodiac sign, Aries. Planet Mars is the Aries ruler. It all seemed to fit and so in literal terms I really am a down to mars girl.”
Currently, her curated collection is for sale on Etsy and you can follow Down to Mars on Instagram. She also attends pop up shops and other fashion events, including Cincy Chic’s Seasonably Chic Showcase.
Victory Wellness & Medspa
Victory Wellness & Medspa offers several services and programs for weight loss and hormone replacement, as well as skin services for anti-aging treatments for men and women.
Kerschner says that when her patients leave Victory Wellness & Medspa, she wants them to leave feeling better about themselves.
“We are unique because we care for the external as well as internal well-being of people,” she says.
Caring for the overall well being of her patients leads to positive responses, which Kerschner says makes her job all the more worthwhile. “I had a patient who told me that for the first time she feels alive and enjoys living life to the fullest,” she adds. “I define success as a grateful smile on my patient’s face.”
