Learn about the new coloring book launched by a local artist that features hand-drawings of your favorite Cincinnati landmarks.
Cincy Chic: What is Color the Queen City?
Keli Spanier, Founder of Colette Paperie and Author behind Color the Queen City: It is a coloring book with hand-drawn Cincinnati landmarks, and lettered headings that you can also color in. It also includes a Cincinnati-themed crossword puzzle.
Cincy Chic: What’s the inspiration behind it?
Spanier: It’s simply a love for all our city has to offer. I’ve taken a liking to learning more about Cincinnati and it’s really such a fascinating city to live in. It was so enjoyable for me to draw the iconic landmarks and learn a little more about them at the same time.
Cincy Chic: Who’s behind it?
Spanier: I am, Founder of Colette Paperie.
Cincy Chic: Which landmarks are featured in the coloring book?
Spanier: Everything I could think of that was an important landmark here- The Cincinnati Art Museum, The Flying Pig Marathon, Fountain Square, Union Terminal, Cincinnati Zoo, Carew Tower, Ault Park, Findlay Market, and even Cincinnati Chili. Lots more – there are over 25 illustrations.
Cincy Chic: What makes this book unique?
Spanier: I consider this to be a great gift item for anyone that loves the Queen City. It’s easy to find interesting coloring books, but it’s harder to find them closer to home. And you know you’re supporting a small business in your own community.
Cincy Chic: Is there anything new on the horizon?
Spanier: Always. I’m constantly drawing and lettering, and have a very long idea list!
Cincy Chic: Where can readers go to learn more and follow along?
Spanier: Visit www.colettepaperie.com, Instagram, and Facebook. And I’ll also be selling it at the Greater Cincinnati Holiday Market on Nov 8-10 at Duke Energy Center downtown. They are also being sold at Joseph Beth Booksellers. Amazon author page & Direct link to buy on Amazon
