Cincy Chic: What is NITRO Bootcamp?
Eric Weissmann, Vice President for Communications, Community and Economic Inclusion at Cintrifuse: NITRO Bootcamp! is an all-day event on Feb. 23rd, 2019 set to power up minority and women-owned small businesses by providing FREE access and training on today’s top business technologies. NITRO! is teaming up with tech experts like Xero, Fuze, Gusto, StartBlox, and Google Suite to host a full-day of break-out training sessions in the following business tech categories: Accounting, Billing, and Payments, Communication and Organization, Project Management, Freelance Creative Services, Inventory and Shipping, and Document Cloud Storage. This immersive, hands-on bootcamp is made to help you improve sales, operations, and culture––all within a full day of info sessions, where tech experts teach you how to apply the best tech to your current business practices.

Cincy Chic: What’s the inspiration behind it?
Weissmann: Research shows that one of the fastest growing segments of the U.S. business population is minority-owned small business. As it turns out, this segment has a similarly growing influence on the national economy. However, minority-owned businesses remain significantly smaller in size and scale than non-minority owned businesses. Only 2% of minority-owned small businesses are generating a total revenue of more than $1M. This may have something to do with limited access to tech-enabled solutions and the capacity entrepreneurs and business owners have to implement them. NITRO! Bootcamp was created to help address these challenges by offering access to technology that can be the biggest game-changer for scale up and growth.

Cincy Chic: Who’s behind it?
Weissmann: NITRO! Bootcamp is powered by J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., a leading global financial services firm that offers investment banking and financial services for consumers and small businesses, and Cintrifuse, a public-private partnership dedicated to establishing a stronger tech presence that will ultimately improve the economy for the Greater Cincinnati area. NITRO! is also supported by the StartupCincy community of entrepreneurs, BigCos, educators, and investors.

Cincy Chic: When will NITRO Bootcamp be held?
Weissmann: The all-day NITRO Bootcamp! will be held on Feb. 23rd, 2019 from 9:00AM – 5:30PM.

Cincy Chic: How does the Bootcamp help minority and women-owned businesses?
Weissmann: Through NITRO! Bootcamp, minority and women-owned small businesses will participate in up to 10 exclusive bootcamp workshops where they’ll receive hands-on training and support for incorporating the latest technologies into their business so that they can more rapidly scale and grow. As part of the experience, small business participants will also receive one year of FREE access to the exclusive NITRO! Tech Stack of business technology software and a 30-day pass to the Union Hall co-working space for up to 3 of their team members, where they’ll have access to conference rooms and communal spaces. On top of it all, this is an incredible opportunity for networking and mentorship within the #StartupCincy ecosystem of accelerators, tech startups, and some of Cincinnati’s major movers and shakers.

Cincy Chic: What makes NITRO Bootcamp unique?
Weissmann: Not only is the NITRO! Bootcamp event itself free to minority and women-owned small businesses, but so is the access to top business technology after the event is over. NITRO! sets itself apart from other training workshops by directly connecting tech experts to the small businesses that use their software.
