Three Must-Haves for Fall

As summer comes to a close and we head into fall, our life coach columnist the three things you need to make this your best year yet.

Hoodies, pumpkin spice, and the turning of the leaves on the trees all imply fall is just around the corner. And it also means there is only four months left in the calendar year. As you enter the month of September have you created and received all that you intended thus far in 2019?

In this moment, pause and look back over the year, and connect the dots and see how your year is going and include all the good, the bad, the not so good moments. If you find that you have little or no success with your new years’ resolutions, maybe it’s time to start a new trend and allow yourself to change your routine in how you set your goals.

What I realized with my new year’s resolutions is they usually are failing a few months in or maybe even don’t ever get started.  From this awareness, I made a change.  I just course correct the way I normally do things and find that taking the time at the beginning of each month to look over how well I’m doing or not doing, I can control and pivot from things that aren’t serving me moving forward. 

Here’s what you can do.  First, take a look at all areas of your life including your career, home, family, health, finances, and relationships to see how well all of these areas are thriving or not. Then adjust those areas that need attention.

Here’s how this works:

If any area is lacking what you desire, then you can align yourself with what you want to be, do, have, and change moving forward utilize these three tools as a guide:

1. Be realistic with your intention and practice “slow and steady” for lasting results.

2. Review what has or hasn’t worked in the past and pivot accordingly.

3. Do something totally out of your comfort zone by shaking things up a bit.

From the place of seeing what you really desire, knowing what has or hasn’t worked before, and steeping into something totally different will offer a NEW perspective on achieving your goals and offer a lasting result.

Doing this practice quarterly, monthly, or weekly even, will give you more control of what you want to create for your life rather than setting all your intentions at the beginning of the year to come to the end of the year and discover nothing changes.
