Beach Book Author Brings Party to You This local author will dance for margaritas, and her book will hula right into your heart. Learn more about her and how she became an expert in fun and trouble. ![]() She sells empty cardboard boxes for a living. To add some more spunk to her life, DC Stanfa, author of The Art of Table Dancing: Escapades of an Irreverent Woman, cranks up her social world — and yours.
Throughout her life Stanfa has maintained a connection with the beach, and she has become an expert on "girl trips" — whether for celebration, relaxation or healing. The Art of Table Dancing exposes her escapades from youth through adulthood in a way that keeps readers smiling and laughing as they can't believe the true tales of Stanfa.
With her beach-themed life, her humor writing and her love of a fun time, Stanfa connects with other women in a unique way. Forget traditional book signings and passage readings! Stanfa throws beach parties for her readers.
Guests are encouraged to sport their best beach attire for a chance to win a beach party in a bag, complete with a beer koozie, hat, lei and Twang margarita salt. The koozie and hat read: "Will dance for margaritas," the name of Stanfa's next book set to launch March 2011.
Stanfa also offers a special price on her book ($10 each) for book club events instead of the standard $14.95 each (often plus shipping and handling). Generally, Stanfa and the book club director will meet a couple weeks before the book club beach party, and the director will buy the books for the members at the discounted price. Then when the members have finished reading the book, Stanfa will throw the beach party at one of the club's regular meetings and sign the books, read a couple passages and maybe even dance on a table.
Her contribution to your book club is free of charge if it is in the Tri-State area, but Stanfa is willing to travel anytime, anywhere to throw a beach party. A group down in St. Martin wanted Stanfa to grace them with her presence, and she just said, "Buy me a ticket!"
Stanfa also is interested in using her beach expertise to make a weekend getaway out of the experience. "Ideally what I'd love to do is do a whole girls' weekend away somewhere and do a beach party," she says.
