Beauty Resolutions

It all started with a Tootsie Roll for Ramona Fisch.

“I had the misfortune of cracking my front tooth off on a Tootsie Roll,” she recalls. “Talk about a nightmare.” After vowing to never eat another Tootsie Roll again, she called the first cosmetic dentist she could find in the phone book, which ended up being Dr. Gibberman with the Montgomery-based Center for Cosmetic Dentistry.

“I called Dr. Gibberman and he told me to come right in and he would take care of it,” she says. “I couldn’t ask for a more personable, honest man to trust.”

He referred her to Dr. Brian Romick, an Anderson-based Orthodontist. “[He] did an awesome job and it was worth the wait,” she says. After being in her adult braces for 15 months, she’s now on a quest to finish the job with veneers from Dr. Gibberman.010509BEAUTY2.jpg

Fisch also wants a more sophisticated look when it comes to her hair and makeup. So, Tuscany Salon will be providing the following serives:

  • Eyelash and eye brow tinting to bring out her features.
  • Brow shaping to open up the upper eye area, which will be achieved through brow threading.
  • Hair color and highlights, after addressing preference and skin tones.
  • Haircut and style that is slightly more updated and sophisticated.
  • Teach her about possible hair products to use and styling methods to help her achieve her new look.
  • Makeup using Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup. This line contains products for all skin tones.
  • During the makeup application, the artist will teach her how to apply her makeup to bring out her features and compliment skin and hair tone.

For Caryn Miller, she didn’t have anything like a Tootsie Roll change her life. She’s still stuck in her same old habits. Her hair has been slowly thinning, and with it her confidence. “I don’t know what the best way to apply make-up is and on a low income it is hard to find the money to test the different products,” she says.

So, Tuscany Salon to the rescue again as they will be providing the following services:

  • Eyelash and eye brow tinting to bring out her features.
  • Brow Shaping to open up the upper eye area, which will be achieved through brow threading.
  • Hair color to add volume to minimize thinning areas.
  • Haircut and style using volumizing shampoo/conditioner and products. Hair cut would be designed for a more updated look and to make hair appear thicker. Teach her about possible products use and styling methods to help her achieve her new look on a budget.
  • Makeup using Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup. This line contains products for all skin tones. During the makeup application, the artist will teach her how to apply her makeup and use shading to create definition for a slimming effect. Because she is on a tight budget, we could suggest appropriate lower priced products. 0109ALLUSIONS_inarticle.gif

Allusions Hair Restoration will be getting to the root (pun intended) of the problem and giving Caryn and her Tuscany stylists more hair to work with. According to Allusions, more than 20 million women suffer from “Androgenetic Alopecia,” or thinning hair. They’ll offer Miller many options and apply the appropriate advanced technology solution to – over time, of course – meet her specific needs and goals.

Michelle Bradley spends much of her time with no makeup on, hair pulled back, in a police uniform hanging out with all her co-workers in a male dominated field. But Bradley literally wants to let her hair down. “I would like to learn how to be able to do my makeup and hair for a night out on the town,” she says. “I have red hair, which I get compliments on, but I have no idea how to actually style it.” Although she does wear it up most of the week, she wants to see what her options are for when she’s on- and off-the-clock.

The experts at Tuscany say they will work with Bradley on the following things to “womanize” her look:

  • Eyelash and eye brow tinting to address her concern with her light lashes and brows.
  • Brow Shaping, which will be achieved through brow threading.
  • “Her hair color is beautiful,” says Liz Reaney, Tuscany’s general manager. “She may or may not want to consider color or a clear shine treatment.”
  • Haircut and style that is easy for her to handle and style herself. Teach her about possible products use and styling methods that will help her take better advantage of her curls.
  • Since she has to wear her hair off her collar at work, Tuscany can teach her alternative ways to wear her pair up to give her other options than her current ponytail.
  • Makeup using Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup. This line contains products for all skin tones. During the makeup application, the artist will teach her how to apply her makeup for a natural result. We can also teach her and apply another look for nighttime.
