Beauty on the Thrift Side
Your dead ends are noticeable and your back is aching from those three-inch stilettos. But your budget is hurting, too. What to do? The Mandarine Hair, Foot and Body Spa may have the solution.
The West Chester-based spa pampers clients with indulgent services like haircuts, pedicures, massages, facials, manicures and makeup consultations. These experts provide services that cater to the mind and body. Advice on known health problems, detoxification programs and tools for embarking on a preventive wellness journey are a few of the wellness director’s specialties. Therapists offer “informed options and recommend therapies based on the best that modern and complementary medicine has to offer,” according to the spa’s Web site.
The Mandarine has been open just over a year and has already made a name for itself, manager Maria Espaldon says. She describes the spa’s atmosphere as “very zen.” And it’s the high-caliber staff that sets it apart from other facilities.
“[The staff] is very friendly and approachable,” she says. “That’s what we call ‘The Mandarine Touch’…clients feel like queens and kings.”
Espaldon says she strives to offer a “wow experience” and reach out to each and every client. And one way of reaching out to these people is through marketing. The spa has taken a Web-based, technological approach to its advertising. As a “young salon” Espaldon says that she wants to concentrate on their target market: professional women in their 20s and 30s, who like to spend a great deal of time online.
The Mandarine has an account on the popular networking site Facebook.com. Customers can add The Mandarine to their friends list and instantly reap the rewards. Specifically, Espaldon says clients can receive 50 percent off popular services through the Facebook promotions. The promotions vary, so Espaldon encourages clients to check the site regularly. Currently, the spa is brainstorming for January and February specials, she says. Check back soon to score some deals.
To take advantage of the special offers, add The Mandarine to your friends list. For more information about the spa and its services, visit the spa’s Web site.
