Monthly Makeover: Meghan Zimmerman

Monthly Makeover: Meghan Zimmerman

by -

For the past six years, Meghan Zimmerman did her hair and makeup exactly the same. Every. Single. Day.

But she’s soon starting a new chapter in life, and she wants to do it in style. "I am getting married in three weeks and would love a refresher to my look," she said.

Zimmerman, a 31-year-old Mason resident, was selected to be a monthly makeover at Mitchell’s Salon & Day Spa. This is a free program where one lucky person will be selected to win a complimentary hair and makeup makeover at Mitchell’s Salon and will be featured in an issue of Cincy Chic. With Zimmerman’s fast-approaching wedding, they didn’t want to do anything too drastic. "We went with soft caramel highlights to brighten up her natural color," says hair technician Linda Edwards. "I kept the length, but created soft fringe around the face and a lot of interior layers to give her more volume."

Edwards used Bumble & bumble Gentle Shampoo ($24.20) and Bumble & bumble Super Rich Conditioner ($25.30) to protect the color. Before using the blow dryer and flat iron, Edwards used Oribe Impermeable ($42) Anti-Humidity Heat Protector. When styling, Edwards used Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ($43) for volume and oil control.

Shawna Nenadov, skin technician, gave Zimmerman a summer, bronzed look to get her ready for her honeymoon in Hawaii. She used Jane Iredale Moonglow Powder ($50.60) for her shadow. "I mixed in some golds and bronzes to enhance her brown eyes," explains Nenadov. "I used a thin line of brown eyeliner on the top and bottom lash to open them up even more." Nenadov then finished off the eyes with Black Blinc Mascara ($26.50).

Nenadov evened out Zimmerman’s skin tone with Jane Iredale Dream Tint Moisturizer Medium ($39.60). "Tinted moisturizer is a great option for summer when you need coverage without the thickness of a foundation," Nenadov said.

Nenadov completed the look with a Jane Iredale Spice Lip Liner ($10) and a Jane Iredale Soft Peach Lip Gloss ($21). "When you play up the eyes, you want to go more natural on the lips, and vice versa," explains Nenadov.

Zimmerman was thrilled with the results of her makeover. "I can’t wait to begin this new chapter with my new look!" she said with a smile.
