Ladies Night Out with a Purpose is an annual, free event that allows women to unite, celebrate and support disadvantaged women and children through donations that support the same vision. The Founder and woman behind the event, Teresa Washington, knows how to party for a purpose.

“Each year we choose four to five different organizations to provide donations from our guests,” says Washington. “We provide a wish list from each organization that allows guests to choose which organization they would like to donate to.” This year, the participating organizations are Talbert House (Passages program), Family Services (All About Baby & Me program), Toys for Tots, and NKOA (Neediest Kids of All).

During the evening, women are offered mini makeup applications, massages, tasty hors d’oeuvres, live music from the Deron Bell Band, shopping from local vendors who donate 20 percent of their sales to an organization of their choice, and so much more.

“We also offer great raffle gifts,” says Washington. “This year’s Gracious Sponsors are Personal Trainer Denise Bryers, Woodhouse Spa, Legalshield, and more. All of the proceeds from raffle ticket sales are also donated to a chosen organization.”

The event will be held at the Fairfield Community Arts Center on December 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. “We are expecting between 150 and 200 guests, where when we first started in 2010, we had between 45 and 50 guests,” says Washington. “I think people are finally recognizing what a great cause this is and the best part is giving back to those in need.”

When Washington originally started Ladies Night Out with a Purpose, she wanted to make it meaningful. “My thought was that if we can come together to mingle and hang out with our girlfriends, why not do it for a purpose,” she says. “We, as women, need a break. We need time to get out with our girlfriends.”

“I love to see women come together and support one another while also helping those that are less fortunate,” Washington continues. “It gives women an opportunity to learn more about the participating organizations and continue to donate throughout the year instead of just that one time at the event.”

Looking ahead, Ladies Night Out with a Purpose will hit the road. “We’ve had so many requests from women in other states saying that they would love to participate,” says Washington. “However, Cincinnati will always be our first love. This year we reached a capacity within 48 hours, which really blew me away. I’m expecting each year will get bigger and better.”
