Local stylists are teaming up to launch the Luxurious Prom Experience, a contest for a local high school

Chanel Scales, a local wardrobe stylist and designer, never had the opportunity to experience prom in high school. She decided what better way to start an event that gives back to the community and also makes a posh prom day happen for one special person.
That’s when she teamed up with Cincinnati-based seamstress/designer Laquetta Kinebrew to launch the Luxurious Prom Experience, a contest where one local high school student will win an all-inclusive prom experience.
“The Luxurious Prom Experience winner will include a custom designed prom dress that is designed by Scales and Kinebrew, hair, makeup, nails, accessories, shoes and a photographer,” says publicist Stephanie Scales.
All candidates interested in entering the contest must submit an essay of 250 words explaining why they deserve this luxurious prom experience. “Also, once the winner is determined we’ll also announce four runner-up contestants who will receive a few perks from this experience,” says Stephanie.
The contest launched February 20, and the deadline for entries is April 5. The winner will be determined one week after the deadline on April 12, 2014.
“Once the winner is chosen, the lucky lady is off to prom, and being able to see her smiling face, that will be the greatest accomplishment for these two designers,” says Stephanie. “To know that you’ll forever be a part of a person’s happiest moments in life means the world.”
Right now, the ladies are in the thick of promoting the contest. “We’re in the process of promoting this event on the radio and local news stations, as well as in local high schools and on social media sites,” says Stephanie. “Tell a friend who will pass it on to another friend and will possibly give a lucky lady a night she won’t forget.”
