Tracey Tracy applies make up to a client at Gloss Lash & Make Up Studio |
The new year is bringing a new look to Gloss Lash & Make Up Studio. Owner Tracey Tracy says it’s her same great artistry and experienced staff, using the best products on the market – it’s now just more glamorous and convenient.
Formerly known as Advanced Permanent Cosmetics and solely based at her original location in Lawrenceburg, she now operates out of the new Kenwood location in addition to her Lawrenceburg studio.
While the Kenwood location opened in October 2012, Tracy began her journey in the make up industry in 2008, where she worked at Magic Act Salon and Day in Greensburg, Ind. She eventually moved back to the Tri-State in 2010 before making the decision to open her own studio. This year, Tracy says, she’s poised to make some big moves.
She recently welcomed Renee Conrad, who specializes in eyelash extensions and professional make up applications, to her team. “Extensions are fairly new to the states, making their debut just over 10 years ago,” Tracy explains, “and now they’re really becoming popular in the Midwest.”
What Tracy loves most about her job is getting positive reactions when clients look in the mirror for the first time after a service. “They tell me a visit to our salon is like visiting a therapist that makes them feel pretty. I love that they can come in my studio, lay back in a heated chair for an hour, spill their life woes and leave feeling refreshed on both the inside and out,” she says. “Our clients tell us they feel younger and happier and they wouldn’t know what to do without us. Renee and I are always humbled by this, as we are just doing what we love and doing our best every day.”
Tracy says she’s also very proud of the products they use and sell at the studio. “For example, we use Cry Baby Mascara, which is a semi permanent mascara that lasts 2-3 weeks and is completely waterproof,” she explains.
You can choose from a variety of semi-permanent and permanent make up services at Gloss. These include on-location bridal and portrait make up applications, brow and lash tinting, semi-permanent mascara, eyelash extensions, brow shaping and threading, cosmetic teeth whitening, tattoo lightening and permanent cosmetic tattooing of eyeliner, brows and lips. Prices at Gloss range from $15 to $500.
Eyelash extensions are the top sellers at Gloss, according to Tracy. “Extensions will give you the instant look of an eye lift,” she says. “Since long lashes are associated with youth, you can immediately take five to 10 years off your look with them.” Tracy says you don’t have to mess with mascara or worry about smudges, smears, or waking up with make up. “We carry various lengths and thicknesses and customize each individual’s set for their wants and needs,” she adds. “Clients can choose to go natural or full on glam, whichever you prefer.”
Tracy has big plans for Gloss brewing for 2014, among those include additional locations and staff members. She also wants to add more evening hours as well as training and internships. “If someone has an interest in lashes, they can take a certified training class with me and apply for an internship and eventually a position with Gloss,” Tracy explains. “My goal is to bring the biggest and trusted mentors that are the best in the industry to the Tri-State.”
