Hip, New Location for Makeup By Elizabeth

Elizabeth Newitt, owner of Makeup by Elizabeth, recently opened a new makeup studio in Hyde Park

Elizabeth Newitt was one of those little girls who loved doing her own makeup and giving friends makeovers. She later turned that penchant for prettification into a profession.

Today, Newitt is the owner of Makeup By Elizabeth which she launched in 2010. And, just recently in July 2013, she expanded her business by opening a new studio in the Hyde Park Plaza Salon Lofts. 

Newitt’s Makeup By Elizabeth studio offers brow and body waxing, airbrush tanning, facials and makeup for weddings or special events. The salon also features a selection of unique beauty products for sale. “I offer some retail products that are not available anywhere else in the area,” says Newitt. Included in her retail offerings is a line of brow pencils, gels and powder for the eyebrows called Billion Dollar Brows.


Makeup By Elizabeth also features a special skincare line called Nerium that Newitt swears by. “It’s amazing–I use it on my skin and have never used anything with results like this,” she explains. “My mom has also been using it and people think she has had plastic surgery because her skin looks so good!” Nerium is a night cream that can be used to help improve wrinkles, fine lines and scarring, as well as acne scars and sun-damaged skin. “Nerium can be used on any skin type including sensitive skin,” adds Newitt.


Among Newitt’s plans for the new studio are evenings with Makeup Happy Hours. These special appointments will take place on from 4:30p.m.to 7:30p.m. on Friday evenings in August and September. For $15-20, clients can get their makeup touched up before they hit the town on Friday night. A “touch-up” might include eye makeup and added false lashes as well as perfecting face makeup or foundation.


Newitt is also hoping to host a free skin consultation session and/or makeup demonstration party on a Friday in August, though she is still working out the details and possible dates.


”In the future, I would love to see Makeup By Elizabeth continue to grow–possibly with a full makeup and skincare studio,” says Newitt. “I would also like to offer larger makeup education programs for industry professionals or anyone who just wants to learn more about makeup.”
