“Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art.” Ralph Waldo Emerson’s famous quote couldn’t be more fitting for Montage Hair and Nail Studio.
“The inspiration behind the salon started when we wanted to create an upscale with an inviting environment,” says co-owner Shawn Roh. “So, in the fall of 2011 we started visualizing our dream and in May 2012 we opened our doors.”
What makes the studio so unique? “It’s a small, quaint studio with big time quality customer service,” says Roh, of the full service hair and nail salon offering women’s haircuts, color services, extensions, Brazilian blowout services, specialty nail art, make up application, and special occasion styles. Plus, Roh adds, they have two stylists who specialize in men’s haircuts.
“With continuing education, we added our hair extension services, and Brazilian Blowout services,” says Roh. “We are starting to develop our party packages for a special spa day.”
The salon started small with just the two owners operating out of the space. Today, less than two years later, they’ve grown into a team of six. What’s next on the horizon? “Hopefully, a larger studio with the same great, quality customer service,” says Roh. “Also, we are hoping to add eyelash extension services in the near future.”
Charity work is also important to the team at Montage Hair and Nail Studio. “We like to get involved with the community,” says Roh. “We did the first ‘Girlfriend’ party last year for the American Heart Association.” Other causes Montage Hair and Nail Studio has been involved with include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati as well as ovarian cancer and breast cancer awareness. “We often donate items for raffle or doing mini manicures at their special functions,” says Roh.
