Monthly Mitchell’s Makeover: Caley Moore

Caley Moore, a 25-year-old high school teacher, was tired of being confused for a student. But between teaching full time, advising several clubs and coordinating an exchange trip, Moore has little time to focus on refining her look.

"I need help standing out from the kids," says Moore in her makeover nomination form. "I have no time to really work on myself and would love the help!"

Moore visited the Kenwood Mitchell’s Salon & Day Spa and met with stylist Christy Brown. "She had colored her own hair, and it was too golden and flat," says Brown. "I gave her a nice, natural, warm tone and did highlights and low-lights."

Brown also cut five inches off the length and razor-cut all the ends for texture. In addition, Brown added a soft bang and feathered layers.

Brown started with Gentle Shampoo and Super Rich Conditioner by Bumble and bumble ($24.20, $25.30), then sprayed base to ends with Bumble and bumble Styling Lotion ($26.40). To dry, Brown used Bumble and bumble’s Classic Round Brush ($40).

For makeup, Moore visited Andrea Alkire, who used Jane Iredale Satin Foundation ($52.80) and Satin Pressed Powder ($55) for base. She also used Jane Iredale Dubonnet blush ($29.70) to enhance her cheek bones. Then, she topped it off with Jane Iredale Moonglow ($52.80) to give it some shimmer.

"I wanted to really play up her eyes, so I gave her smoked eyes," says Alkire. She used Jane Iredale Pink Bliss eye shadows ($30.80) and gave her a pale lip by using a soft peach Jane Iredale lipgloss ($22).
