One Beautiful Blog
When Nancy Dawson, professional makeup artist and owner of Brideface, isn’t face-to-face (literally) with clients, you can find her in front of a computer.
She enjoys sharing makeup tips and tricks on her blog. "I started it about four years ago," she says, "when few makeup artists were blogging."
Dawson initially started the blog to share new pictures of her work as well as product reviews, and tutorials. Since then, she now also interviews other beauty pros, such as facialists, plastic surgeons, and hairstylists. "I try to be a complete beauty source," she says.
Her most popular blog to date has been a step by step tutorial on washing brushes, complete with photos. Her "Makeup Bag Makeover" posts, where she analyzes what a person uses and gives recommendations on upgrades, have also been popular.
What makes her different than other beauty bloggers? She says most are purely product-focused. "But we also feature recent real weddings, photo shoots, and how-to’s," Dawson explains.
She might be spending less time blogging and more time on Facebook in the future, though. "I think that Facebook is gradually taking over ‘traditional’ blogging," Dawson says. "Many of my clients really appreciate a quick snippet of info rather than reading an entire post."
So, to stay up-to-date with all of Dawson’s helpful tips and tricks, make sure you "like" the Brideface fanpage.
