The Pretty Pix event will take place on March 29 at the 915 Monmouth Studio in Newport

Is your Facebook profile pic feeling a little dated? Is your look a little lack-luster? Freshen up your face (and Facebook) by getting glammed up and new headshots at the upcoming Pretty Pix event, hosted by JMM Photography and Cincimakeup.

The event will take place on March 29 from 11:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the 915 Monmouth Studio, which is located at (you guessed it) 915 Monmouth Street Newport, KY 41051.

“I know so many of my ladies haven’t had professional makeup applied or photos taken since their wedding day, or even worse, their high school senior photos,” says Jacalyn Mains, owner of JMM Photography. “It’s time for an updated picture, so here’s your chance by attending our event!”

Mains typically specializes in wedding photography. “For me, weddings are filled with beauty and splendor that emerges naturally,” Mains explains. “I consider it my job to capture that magic in its most raw form- unobtrusively, truthfully, blissfully.”

Mains’ approach to wedding photography is both modern and fashionista-like, she says. “I try to capture the emotion of the moments of laughter, tears, and joy that the couple and their family feel,” she adds. “I appreciate and cherish each couple’s uniqueness and personalities — I strive to capture images that reflect that individuality.”

JMM Photography offers three different packages and pricing begins at $3000 for wedding photography. “I share the studio with three other superbly talented ladies in the wedding industry (Kelly Ledford of Cinci Makeup, Marti Heard of Marti’s Floral Designs and Kristen Becker of Five Dot Design) and we rent out our fabulous studio for private parties as well,” says Mains. What’s new on the horizon for JMM Photography? “Well, although not technically ‘new,’ I do love to tell ladies about my boudoir photography,” explains Mains. “Boudoir to me, as a photographer, means an artistic interpretation of you: a strong, sensual, powerful being.” Mains will travel to your home or hotel/bed and breakfast of your choice for the session. “My goal during a boudoir session is to first and foremost have fun, but also to show the best of your assets no matter your shape or size, while leaving as much to the imagination as you want.”
