Like a little lift, but afraid to go under the knife? Dr. Shalini Gupta at the Dermatology Laser & Vein Center may have just the solution that specializes in a “natural look” and personalizes the care of your skin.
According to Gupta, she performs various procedures such as Botox, eyelid surgeries, liposuction, facelift surgeries and other procedures that help skin look firmer, smoother, and healthier. “My focus is to help patients look and feel their best using current, up to date, and proven procedures,” she says.
That’s why she was one of the first in the area to start using a procedure called Skin Tyte. “Skin tightening is a highly requested treatment at the center,” she explains, “and the cost per session for Skin Tyte range from $300 to $1,200.”
According to Gupta, Skin Tyte works by delivering heat to the deeper structures of the skin and below sparing the top layer of the skin from any heat damage. There is likely also an effect from the heat on the muscle structure beneath the skin to help shrink that as well. “It’s a noninvasive infrared laser technology that helps tighten skin by stimulating collagen in the skin to make it firmer,” says Gupta. “The procedure is safe, there is no recovery time, and some results are seen immediately.”
Compared to other procedures performed in a single sitting, Skin Tyte is quick and comfortable performed in a series of three sessions that are conducted three weeks apart for the best results. To keep skin healthy and firm maintenance at 3-6 month intervals will make sure skin is firm and healthy.
“We have other skin tightening devices as well, including Ulthera, Thermage and the new Exilis Elite,” says Gupta. “Skin Tyte does not hurt and is the only light based technology for skin tightening.” Other technologies are either ultrasound or radiofrequency based technologies that also help tighten skin and underlying musculature.
Other new technology Gupta recently welcomed into her practice includes Exilis Elite, which is used for fat reduction and skin tightening and also can be used on any part of the body. Another new procedure at the center is called Vanquish, which noninvasively destroys fat cells permanently.
