Fried Chicken Dip and Joy Sauce
Yield: about 2 cups
There are more places to purchase fried chicken than ever before. The choice is yours, as is your selection of breasts, thighs and legs. Some folks like their fried chicken just the way they purchased it. For those of you who like a little pizzazz, try this bottled sauce that may be used for marinades, as a flavor enhancer or as a dipping sauce for ribs and poultry.
Ingredients
1 Cup Dip’n Joy Saucy Chicken Sauce: Sweet & Sour
1/8 Teaspoon ground ginger
1 Cup pineapple preserves
1/8 Teaspoon ground clove
1 Tablespoon honey
Microwave Method
- Place the ingredients in a microwave safe 4-cup container and mix well.
- Microwave on high for two minutes.
- Stir and Microwave 30 seconds more.
Conventional Method
- Place in a one-quart saucepan over medium high heat, stirring occasionally.
- Just let the sauce come to a boil..
Chef’s Notes: Dip’n Joy is a bottled sauce that can be found in the kosher section at your super market or specialty store. This sweet and sour combination may be substituted with another brand, but substitution will produce a different flavor.
