Q&A with Cinny Roy, Eve Center’s Founder and Executive Director:

This is the fourth annual Cupcakes & Cocktails fundraiser. Is there anything new and exciting guests can expect at the Feb. 28th event?

This year, we’ve changed the format a bit. We are offering ample seating so guests can dine and watch the fashion show when they aren’t shopping from any of our eight clothing, jewelry and specialty product vendors, or sampling cupcakes from our three cupcake booths. This year’s fashion show presents a variety of looks from our fashion partners: MarshallsBCBGMAXAZRIA, Kenwood Towne Center and locally owned-operated Pink Slate Boutique. Our fashion show makeup artists from Cincy Style Bar will be returning again this year and the fashion show will be emceed by two fabulous and very funny female entrepreneurs, Julie Bauke, career strategist and leader of the Bauke Group and Jill Haney, founder of JH Image Consulting.

What makes Cupcakes & Cocktails so successful?
Girls just wanna’ have fun and there is an authentic sense of sisterhood and camaraderie at this event. Women from all walks of life come together for an evening that allows them to get dressed up and celebrate who they are with new and old friends. Guests experience a multi-faceted evening at a very fair price, giving them opportunities to shop, eat great food, sample from multiple cupcake vendors, sip on cocktails, get fake lashes applied by our Sephora makeup artist and pose with friends at our photo booth – all while supporting the life-changing services of Eve Center. These are just a few of the reasons why our event is so well attended (selling out each year since its inception) and why so many come back year after year.

Where do the proceeds go?
100% of the proceeds from Cupcakes & Cocktails fund Eve Center’s growth, allowing us to continue providing services at no-cost to our clients.

What is the mission of Eve Center?
The Eve Center is an organization of Christian women committed to promoting emotional, spiritual and relational healing for adult women. This is provided in a safe, confidential environment, at no cost to the client, through one on one peer counseling program, recovery groups, book studies, resource library, and Volunteer Peer Counseling Education.

How can Cincy Chic readers get involved in Eve Center as a client or volunteer?
For all requests for care or inquiry into programs, women can call 513-985-9959 or visit the website: www.evecenter.org. We see clients for all issues women face, including relational issues, eating issues, abuse, parenting, poor life choices, job loss, loss of a loved one and so much more. Eve Center’s motto is “We’ve been where you are,” which means our clients are paired with a trained volunteer peer counselor (VPC) who can relate to their story. Other ways to get involved in Eve Center is through a variety of groups and studies, available on numerous topics, including: boundaries, healing choices and getting “unstuck” in a particular life-situation. 2014 groups and studies are now open and listed on the Calvary Industries; Cincy Chic; Clovernook Country Club; Montgomery Vision Care; Philip Bortz Jewelers; Maaco Auto Body; Niehaus Advertising Specialties; RIWisdom Ltd., The Event Girls and The Wolf Group.
