Goddess Night Out Networking

Goddess Night Out Networking

by -

Networking shouldn’t be about plastering on a smile and shaking hands till one of yours falls off. And local entrepreneur Daphney Thomas not only realized this, she did something about it.

Now you can have a genuine smile as you network with other Greater Cincinnati women at a Goddess Night Out, a networking event series started by Thomas. These bi-monthly events give you a chance to have a night out on the town as you support local female entrepreneurs and grow as a professional yourself.

Every event comes with a different theme, which have ranged from Asian to Hawaiian, and each event is scheduled for a different location. Past events have taken place at Havana Martini Club and Lavomatic, to name a few.

The Goddess Night Out events include a couple speakers who share their entrepreneurial journeys, and Thomas throws some fun in the mix with door prizes. And of course, there’s always time for your traditional networking exchange of business cards.

Attendance ranges from 15 to 30 women, whose professions have included everything from an integral life coach to a radio personality to a spoken word artist. "My events are open to all women, all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and (depending on the venue) all ages," Thomas says. "It’s a night to really come out with your girlfriends, and it’s not all about being a ‘goddess-preneur.’ If you want to come out and just support other women and their journeys to being business owners, it’s a night for you to come out as well."

The next Goddess Night Out is coming up Feb. 26, and in honor of Black History Month, "Mama Africa" is the theme, with cultural garb being the attire. Most events, including the one on Feb. 26, start at 8 p.m. and run until around 10:30 or 11 p.m. It will be held at The Greenwich in Walnut Hills, and the $10 cover charge includes a light fare and pampering session "where ladies can have their hands massaged and scrubbed and just relax," Thomas says.
