Bold Fusion’s 10th Anniversary Event
![]() |
An event that sells out quickly every year, Bold Fusion is where young, creative minds come together for provocative discussion, learning and a common purpose: to connect with one another and learn how to advance their career, their company and our community.
HYPE (Harnessing Young Professional Energy) is the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber’s talent attraction and retention initiative serving as a connecting point for young professionals, young professional organizations, companies and community leaders. They aim to create awareness and positive buzz about Cincinnati USA, offer ways to connect and engage young, new leaders, and arm employers with the recruiting tools they need to more effectively “sell” Cincinnati USA.
The Bold Fusion event, presented by P&G, will take place on Thursday, August 21 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Horseshoe Casino in Cincinnati. This year’s event is expected to welcome 700 attendees, according to Lance Barry, Public Relations Manager of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.
The keynote speaker at Bold Fusion’s 10th Anniversary Event, Andrew Yang, has worked in start-ups and early-stage growth companies as a founder or executive for more than twelve years. He was the CEO and president of Manhattan GMAT, a test preparation company acquired by the Washington Post Company/Kaplan in 2009. He has also served as the co-founder of an Internet company as well as an executive of a health care software set-up.
Yang has also made appearances on many media outlets, including CNBC, Fox News, Time, Techcrunch, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. He was named a “Champion of Change” by the White House for his work with Venture for America and is a graduate of Columbia Law School and Brown University.
As one of Fast Company’s “100 Most Creative People in Business” and author of Smart People Should Build Things, Yang will share with attendees how entrepreneurship can revitalize business by inspiring the next generation. “Given Venture for America’s ongoing work throughout the region, I’m very familiar with the energy that exists in Cincinnati, but to be able to see it firsthand at an event like Bold Fusion, will be both exciting and gratifying,” says Yang.
Venture for America is a fellowship program that places top college graduates in start-ups for two years in emerging U.S. cities such as Cincinnati, Detroit, New Orleans, Las Vegas, and many others. Regarded as one of the leading social innovation initiatives in the country, Venture for America today has a goal of helping create 100,000 new jobs in the U.S. by 2025.
Event pricing includes a copy of Yang’s book, Smart People Should Build Things, and one drink ticket at happy hour.
