Lauri Stefanou, Vice President of Sales and Leasing at Cinci Property

Buying a property can be difficult and complicated, but opening a commercial location makes it look like a walk in the park.

That’s where Lauri Stefanou, Vice President of Sales and Leasing at Equity Inc., can help. She’s in the business of helping businesses. “I know what it takes to be successful in the competitive world of commercial real estate,” she says.

Real estate wasn’t Stefanou’s initial path, though. “After working in the beauty industry selling hair products, salon industry software, running a beauty supply distributorship and serving as a director of one of Cincinnati’s largest Salon and Spa concepts, I decided to change directions completely and turned to real estate,” says Stefanou. “The timing just seemed right!”

With an 18-year career in sales, marketing and management serving the professional beauty industry, Stefanou began her real estate career in 2001. For the last seven years she has been a top producing Retail and Office Sales and Leasing Specialist with Prudential Commercial Real Estate and Equity Inc. She provides essential counsel, brokerage and property management services to an array of tenants, landlords, franchisees and owners.

“Following some success with selling single-family homes, I was hired as Director of Sales & Marketing for Domaine De La Rive in Covington Kentucky by Corporex and then the McAlpin – both of which are luxury condo developments,” explains Stefanou. “By this time I was completely fascinated with commercial real estate and made the leap to this type of real estate career versus residential.”

It’s her background in retail – coupled with her partnership with Equity, Inc. – that helps her focus a great deal of her practice on retail and office sales and leasing. “Being aligned with Equity, Inc. as my Broker has been a wonderful move for me. Equity is not only a Real Estate Brokerage, but also a developer, property management and construction firm,” says Stefanou. “I just love that I have a regional reach because being based in Columbus Ohio, we also have offices in Cincinnati, Dayton, Tampa, Orlando, St Petersburg and coming soon an office in San Antonio Texas.”

Stefanou recently launched her personal website,, to differentiate herself from the pack and offer helpful market information. The site is a web-based resource for small, medium, and large businesses to help them either get started or expand into new territories. “Of course, my broker has a great website,” Stefanou says, “but I wanted to further define how I can help my clients through my unique skill sets such as franchise consulting and by additional opportunities to showcase my client’s properties.”

Stefanou realizes that it takes more than site selection and negotiation skills to succeed in commercial real estate. Her number one priority is to understand her clients’ needs, then to maximize their results by taking time to network with Economic Development Corporations, other corporate brokers, business owners, networking organizations. “In that sense,” Stefanou says, “I function as a real estate ‘headhunter’ for my client, whether an individual or major corporation.”

To date, Stefanou’s had a hand in making more than than $25,000,000 in sales and more than $2,500,000 in lease transactions. Her secret to success? “My network and affiliations,” she says. “I bring them opportunities afforded by a truly full service brokerage, property management, construction and development company.

With regard to the future, Stefanou’s goal is to further develop her skills and affiliations in commercial real estate and the community. She also plans to align franchise concepts with both individuals and their families in an effort to help more people reach their goals in business and in life.

“I cannot imagine doing anything else as a career since having the opportunity to touch so many people in so many different ways,” says Stefanou. “With over 30 years of sales and marketing experience, I am uniquely capable of helping my clients.”
