From a Photography Passion to Selling Fashion

Richmond, KY-based DSP | The Studio opened in March and carries affordable women’s clothing

If you’ve been around the Richmond, KY recently, you might have noticed a new shop, DSP | The Studio. This past March, Dustin Stevenson opened the doors to his rustic new shop that carries trendy women’s clothing at affordable prices. “We carry what we know people will want. Once a style is gone, we get a new style in, always changing and revolving. DSP | The Studio also offers jewelry (some our own creation), yummy scents of candles and room sprays, bags, and more!” says Stevenson.

Stevenson is first and foremost a photographer and owns Dustin Stevenson Photography. “Photography is my passion and my main squeeze. It’s what I do…and I love what I do! I see it and feel it everywhere I go. I am lucky to have the ability to see something so simple, but yet capture it in a way that evokes overwhelming emotion,” says Stevenson.

DSP | The Studio was then developed from his photography business. “Throughout the boutique, you will see some of my work hanging all over the walls, along with old frames and vintage cameras!” adds Stevenson. Being a dual business owner and be able to pursue both of his passions comes with perks. “I sit and edit photographs all day long, while assisting customers, as they view our items! Running a two-in-one business gives me that extra business arm,” says Stevenson.

It also allows him to meet a lot of new people who could end up being his future clients. “My boutique is centered around young women. I’m meeting people that I wouldn’t ordinarily meet. These people could potentially be seniors in high school or college, future brides, ladies with babies, etc., that may want to book me on the photography end of things.”

Stevenson says his next goal for DSP | The Studio is to create an online website, so customers can shop from the comfort of their home. Given the fact that Stevenson is business savvy and talented, it will be interesting to see what else his creative mind will produce. “We are always on the hunt for something new and fun and are always thrilled to unveil those latest ventures to all of our customers!”
