Scale to Success
There are hundreds of books, magazine articles and commercials that advertise fad diets that result in “quick” or “easy” weight loss. But one local healthcare network says that’s not the answer to lasting success.
The Christ Hospital is teaming up with the YMCA to launch Scale to Success, an eight-week weight management program focused on making lifestyle changes for long-lasting results. This program was designed for those who want to lose weight while learning how to maintain a healthy life.
A major differentiator of this diet program is that it is taught by registered dietitians and YMCA personal trainers. According to senior consultant Dana Adams, “The dietitians and personal trainers work together because both proper nutrition and exercise habits are needed to make lifestyle changes.”
Scale to Success uses research-based information along with nutrition and exercise class portions to teach individuals about weight loss. This program uses multiple forms of education in order to provide participants with the tools that they need in order to change behaviors that will lead to a healthier lifestyle.
“With all of the fad diets on the market and misinformation on the Internet, it is important to have a program that provides diet and exercise information from a trusted source,” says Adams. “We are excited to be that trusted source for the public and employees of The Christ Hospital Network.”
The Scale to Success program costs $225 for YMCA members and Christ Hospital employees. There is also an early bird special available for $215 (due before February 3). The cost of the program for non-members is $260. The early bird special for non-members runs at $250 (due before February 3).
Scale to Success begins on February 24 and it runs on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. All activities take place at the Blue Ash YMCA.
