Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you. ~Carl Sandberg
I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since I last blogged. I’m very sorry, but my life has been a bit hectic lately. Cincy Chic has lots of new developments in the works, such as a weekly giveaway and a new partnership with TASTE magazine. And my personal life is full of wedding planning and marathon training. But I’m so happy to find some time to blog. I have lots to tell you!
A couple weeks ago, Cincy Chic’s amazing photographer, Neysa Ruhl taught a photography 101 class and since I just purchased a nice camera and have always had an interest in photography, I decided to go. We played a lot with lighting and shadows, which was fun. The other photographers there were primarily wedding photographers, so we simulated things like the first dance with the low lighting of those settings. Here are some of my favorites that I took at my 101 class
I’ve been trying to spend more time doing things that I love…so I’m so proud of myself for taking the time to do this photography class. I just went to a talk with eWomen Networking Group about life coaching and the speaker asked us to picture who we want to be in a year and what we need to do to get there. I wrote down that I want to allot more time for my personal life and take the time to enjoy the hobbies I used to love to do so much. So, those are my goals. I’ll keep you updated on how I’m doing on the progress of all that! 🙂 But thinking about all of this has made me realize that you really have to make time for yourself to feel like yourself (Hence the quote above about time). So, I’m trying to do that. I’m now taking time each day to read. In fact, I’m re-reading “The Time Travelers Wife” (LOVE IT!). And I have been spending more time with my fiance and Dino my puppy. I took him out (Dino, not Pete! haha) in the back yard after the big snow last week (of course in his stylish new coat). Here are a few pics
