Featured Artist: Ben Walker II

Ben Walker II is an amazing dancer and choreographer. He is also the founder/director of Dance With Me, a local dance company that, besides creating productions and performing for private events, also has a TV show on public access every 2nd and 4th Friday at 6 p.m. on channel 4, and every first Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. on metro access channel 24. This program is an innovative and independent educational entertainment show with the purpose of connecting, informing and inspiring – as well as communicating the achievements, organizations and lives of new and professional local working artists.

Thursday Dec. 11: You’ve probably heard about Give Back Cincinnati, the local young professional group that organizes large-scale volunteer efforts on a monthly basis – but have you been to one of their events? If not, this is a great way to start (and if so, you’ll know to be there!).

Tonight they celebrate another year of lending a hand at their annual holiday party – which starts at 7 p.m. at Molly Malone’s in Covington. The party goes until midnight and involves food, music by the Comet Bluegrass All-Stars and DJ Apryl Reign.

Friday Dec. 12: Still have some holiday shopping to take care of? Get it done and be entertained at the same time at Engine 22 Gallery, from 8-11 p.m. at 216 W 15th St. Downtown. Experience a wonderful holiday exhibition with live performances, music and an art raffle. Info: 513-485-0180.

Saturday Dec. 13:
Get away from the cold at this hot Salsa holiday celebration. Hosted by Salsa Underground at Step-N-Out Studios in Covington, this is a great way to end the year. Snacks provided, and BYOB. Also features DJ Jimmy C from Cleveland and amazing dancer Andy Cruz. $10 cover. 10 p.m. – 3 a.m. 721 Madison Ave Covington. Info: www.salsaunderground.net

Sunday Dec. 14: The Cincinnati Observatory offers a unique way to put the year in perspective at their Luminaria Holiday Open House. Visit for a tour of the restored buildings, refreshments and a view through their historic telescopes. 6-10 p.m. Sunday, 3489 Observatory Place. Info: 513-321-5186.
