First Friday in NKY! The first Friday of the month is always a happenin’ time across the river – Newport hosts its WAAM (Writers, Artists, Actors and Musicians) event, info: Gallerie Zaum, 811 Monmouth St. 41071, 859-441-3838. Bellevue is doing their monthly “Shop Bellevue,” where all the shops on their main strip offer discounts and promotions. The theme this time is Hats before the Horses – wear your favorite hat and you may win a $100 Bellevue shopping spree or a dozen long-stem roses. This will take place all along Bellevue’s shopping strip on Fairfield Ave. Bellevue, 41073. (Route KY-8). Covington isn’t to be left out with their Art-hop … and this month the most notable events there are a special exhibit called “The Vault” at Leapin Lizard Gallery, 726 Main St … and the grand opening of The Flying Cat, 713 Main St. Covington, 41011. All events run from 6-9 p.m. Northern KY, and are free!
