The WU – Weekend Update – March 7-9

The WU  –  March 7-9

Hi everyone! It’s going to be a snowy weekend, but there are a lot of fun things you can do to keep warm! Have a good one!

Friday

Kid Jupiter rocks – and makes its debut at Dirty Jack’s tonight! Be one of the first to hear them and get some autographs while they’re still free … great music for dancing to, drinking to, and unwinding to – and how can you resist a band with a chick bassist? (There’s a female singer and keyboardist too!) Be there or be very square: 9 p.m. 5912 Vine St. 45216, 513-242-2800.

Saturday

March 8 is International Women’s Day, and Essencha Tea House is celebrating with day-long specials and live music by local female musicians from 4-7 p.m. Featuring Lines and Spaces (keyboard and cello), Jane Andre (voice and guitar), Laura Sabo and Kathleen Moniaci (clarinet and bassoon). If you’ve never been to the Tea House, this is a great way to start!

Sunday

Smetana’s Dance of the Comedians, Joseph Suk’s Towards a New Life, & Dvorak’s Symphony #4 & Slavonic DancesThe Beseda Dancers from the American Czechoslovakian Club in Dayton will join the orchestra in folk dances & Dvorak’s Slavonic Dance #8. Free.
