Culture Spotlight:

 

There’s a new art gallery in town! Artonmony Gallery, a division of Artonomy, Inc. (which does prints, reproductions, and framing), recently opened in its new home in Rookwood Commons. The current showing, “Visual Awakenings,” is a group exhibit of drawing, painting, mixed media, collage, sculpture and glass by artists such as V. Mann, Kurt Grannan, Marc Lincewicz, Wynter Whiteside, Lisa Paytes, Michael Rozell, Seth Scantlen, and others.

 

If you are an artist, they are also accepting new work of all mediums! Please contact Jennifer if you are interested in exhibiting. Please send at least 6 jpeg images of current work and/or website.

Normal gallery hours are 12-5 p.m. Tues-Thurs, 2723 Edmondson Road, 513-281-ARTS.

Monday: Ever thought about learning to Salsa dance? Check out the new beginner session at Delta 1018 in Mt. Lookout Square! I took this 6-week session a few months ago and it was great! You meet interesting people, get some exercise, and have fun at the same time! 8-9 p.m. $65 for series or $15 per class.

 

Tuesday: Essencha Teahouse hosts 2-for-1 Tuesdays – Bring a friend with you after 2 p.m. and get a whole pot of tea for the price of a cup! You can use the money you save to share a dessert! 3212 Madison Rd, Oakley. 513-533-4832.
 

Wednesday: Ever seen a lunar eclipse … up close and personal? Today, from 8:50 p.m. until midnight, the moon will slide into the shadow of the Earth. The Observatory is inviting folks to see it for themselves – there won’t be another chance until December 2010! They will be open from 8:30-11:00pm with telescopes pointed at Saturn, the Orion Nebula and, of course, the moon! $4 per person, no reservations needed. 3489 Observatory Place Cincinnati, OH 45208 513-321-5186. 

 

Thursday: Greenwich hosts excellent trumpeter Mario Abney
Enjoy jazz trumpeter Mario Abney  and this progressive band of musicians from Dayton. The special guest will be “djdq ” from the well known hip-hop group Animal Crackers and Glue. 9 p.m. The Greenwich. $10 admission includes light buffet.
