Bridal Fashion Week 2018 Sneak Peek

Our wedding columnist shares a sneak peek into the most popular fashions and trends we’ll see introduced this year.

Bridal Fashion Week 2018 is Fast Approaching!

New York Bridal Fashion week is next month, and the team of Lace Bridal Couture cannot wait to preview the latest fashions and trends that will be featured in the designers showrooms for Fall 2018. Whether you are bride getting married next summer or fall 2019, these will be the gowns and trends you will be seeing in the bridal boutiques very soon.

While last seasons wedding dress trends are not going anywhere, such as: off the shoulder gowns, champagne and soft blue gowns, and, of course, lace gowns, this season will see a new take on some of our favorites.

From princess-inspired capes to detachable sleeves, tea-length gowns to pink and nude shades, these are the wedding dress trends we will be seeing for 2018.

Capes are still going strong, but this season they’ve been upgraded from capelet to full-on princess cape. Designers are having you skip the classic train or veil and are having you top your wedding dress off with an awesomely chic cape. It looks like we are going to be seeing this trend all over Bridal Fashion Week soon. The capes are coming in all sizes, from long, mid length or short. This is definitely going to be a trend for our modern, chic brides who are looking to be more unique and fashionable on her wedding day.

Off-the-shoulder dresses are still everywhere and are super flattering, but designers are putting a new spin on sleeves for the classic gown.

Call it the evolution of the off the shoulder wedding dress trend. Designers are still intent on showing off brides’ shoulders, but this season that trend comes on and off! Detached sleeves are one of the big wedding-dress trends we will see in New York next month. From bouffant sleeve to slinky and lacy, these sleeves create the look of an off-the-shoulder dress while actually being a strapless dress.

One of my most favorite wedding dress trends is the Mid-length gown. This latest wedding dress length trend feels pulled straight out of a 1950s screen goddess’s wardrobe. Designers are feeling modest for next fall, and mid-calf-length wedding dresses are going to be all over the runways. This sweet trend feels reinvented and yet whimsically vintage for the bride-to-be looking for fashion yet wanting a classic look.

The blush trend is getting a new take in varying shades of pink and nude. From hot pink and peach at Naeem Khan to soft shades of nude at Elie Saab, Alexandra Grecco, Inbal Dror, and more, this romantic wedding-dress trend is here to stay. (from: Brides Magazine)

These wedding dress trends are just a “taste” of the designer fashions we will be previewing while in New York City next month. Stay tuned for the full list of bridal trends and pictures from NYBFW 2018 as Lace Bridal Couture team takes on NYC!
