Joyce Burson, owner of Cutepieces Fashion Gallery

Stylist Joyce Burson went to Hollywood to get her experience, and recently moved back home to launch a fashion gallery that gives the Tri-State a taste of Tinseltown.

Appropriately named, the downtown-based Cutepieces Fashion Gallery is founded on the concept that one item can make your entire outfit. “Everyone has a closet full of clothing that just a few cute pieces can help bring to life,” says Burson. “It’s boutique style shopping where you can combine new pieces with your existing wardrobe to add flavor.”

Burson is a Cincinnati native and graduate of the School for Creative and Performing Arts. She brings L.A. style from her experience in the California fashion scene. Moving to the West Coast with only $50 in her pocket on a Greyhound bus, Burson enrolled in The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.

She worked for Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom while also styling celebrity actresses like Jada Pinkett-Smith and Lela Rochon. “I love fashion and even though I’ve styled many people I knew the place I wanted to open my first boutique was back at home,” explains Burson. Back in Cincinnati, armed with a wealth of knowledge and a degree in Fashion Merchandise and Marketing Burson, Burson says the new gallery is just what the city needs to bring in brand new trends in fashion.

What makes the experience at Cutepieces Fashion Gallery unique is that you find quality merchandise and a high level of customer service from an experienced fashion stylist. “You can expect my honest opinion,” says Burson. “I want you feel good when you go out in these exclusive pieces. All the product comes from L.A. but is not overly priced ranging from $15-$100. At the same time we keep a great sale rack with a variety of nice pieces to choose from.”

The boutique features a variety of styles from contemporary to vintage, with hand-picked pieces channeling L.A. runway shows that constantly change to keep up with current trends. “There’s something for the shape of every woman with sizes ranging from 2-3X offering blouses, tanks, jeans, jumpsuits, leggings, and swimsuits,” explains Burson.

Since the gallery opened in March 2013, Burson says it has been organically growing so well that she is moving her location into the Amanda Kelly Salon, located at 1010 Race Street Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. It’s open Tuesday through Saturday 11a.m.- 7p.m. To learn more, “like” them on Facebook or visit their website www.cutepieces.com.
