Chic Style: DIY Bengals T-shirt

Make your own DIY Bengals T-shirt this season!

Whether you’re an avid football fanatic, or someone who simply enjoys the pregame tailgate, it’s important to show support for the hometown team. For women, there isn’t always an abundance of stylish football-themed attire to choose from. Often you have to choose between looking sporty or chic, not both. Luckily, there’s an easy way to combine the two to create the ultimate Bengals look. Below is a stress-free DIY project for a sparkly, yet sporty Bengals shirt.

What You’ll Need: black t-shirt, freezer paper, extra fine orange glitter, spray glue, scissors

Step 1: Sketch your design on the freezer paper. You can find the Bengals “B” symbol on the Internet if you want to print it out and trace it onto the freezer paper for an exact sketch.

Cut out your sketch after drawing it out on freezer paper.

Step 2: Cut your sketch out of the freezer paper. Don’t forget to also cut out the two holes in the middle of the “B”!

Step 3: Iron freezer paper onto t-shirt. Line up the paper so the area that’s cut out is centered on the shirt. Remember to iron the two small cutouts on the shirt in order to form the “B” shape. Iron the freezer paper onto the shirt for about 30 seconds, or until the freezer paper is securely attached to the shirt.

Step 4: Spray the stencil with spray glue. After ironing on the freezer paper, use spray glue to spray inside the stencil on the t-shirt. Before spraying, place a piece of cardboard or brown paper bag inside the shirt, so the glue doesn’t bleed through to the back of the shirt.

Step 5: Sprinkle glitter onto the glue area. Use a substantial amount of glitter when sprinkling it onto the shirt. You can use a sponge to gently even out the glitter. Wait for the glue to dry, and shake off any extra glitter. Use another coat of spray glue on top of the glitter, and finish it off with more glitter. Wait until the glue dries again, shake off any residual glitter, and you have a chic and sporty shirt to support the hometown team!
