The Fashion Meets Music Festival will take place
August 29-31.

If fashion and music rank as some of your greatest loves, you’ll want to check out the upcoming Fashion Meets Music Festival (FMMF) headed to Ohio later this month.

It all started from a single idea: “To present day where a team of over 15 staff are putting in countless hours to execute this festival forward,” says Melissa Dickson, Communications Director with Fashion Meets Music Festival.

The three-day festival fuses music and fashion together to create one entertainment platform. FMMF’s seven indoor and outdoor stages are set to house over 200 musical acts, and the Columbus Convention Center will be fully transformed into a fashion and music retail marketplace. This is where the booths and a dedicated runway installed to showcase the latest from today’s established and emerging designers.

Benefits of going to the FMMF include getting the opportunity to see some of your favorite acts play intimate shows through the festival’s after party and encore show series – which will take place in local venues in around the city.

The festival is completely free and open to the public, special packages providing additional perks are available for purchase – including the After Party Badge, Expo Tickets (which grants entry to all fashion and music retailer booths in the Convention Center) and the Access To Excess (A2E) Pass, for festival attendees seeking the ultimate VIP experience. Details on ticket packages can be found here.

Dickson says the event concept will continue to expand in the future. “The event will continue to grow and gain momentum and continue to evolve more elements every year,” she adds. “It is very exciting to see what will be in store as the years continue.”

FMMF’s mission is to celebrate the seamlessly integrated art forms, while supporting the culturally diverse and self-expressive lifestyles right inside the inspiring, passionate and creative energy of Columbus, OH – home of the third largest fashion market in the US.

“Our festival truly owns the fashion component and the naming opportunity of Fashion unlike other festival in the world. The Runway shows and fashion that will be displayed in addition to the opportunity of our Retail Marketplace where you can actually purchase the wears from the designers and brands make our event very unique. It’s instant gratification,” says Dickson.

The festival will hold educational panels that will explore multiple angles including the importance of music festivals, the importance of local music promotion through music retailers, the necessary role of performing rights organizations, the role of independent musicians in organizing a local music community, the overall value of a “localization of the music industry” in emerging creative cities and more.

The sponsors include: Stella, Germain Lexus, ABC 6, FOX 28, CW, Live! Technologies, Mills James Productions, Coke, Clear Channel, Concessions By Cox, Sweeney Vesty, Baesman, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Studio Movies Grill, Big Picture Media, Substream, Radio U, JakPrints, Karma 52, New York Model Management, Dickson Hospitality, Bravo Artist, Luconic, Envy, Kitamu Coffee and White Castle.

When it comes to the future of FMMF, “the sky is the limit,” says Dickson. “We’re positioning this event to gain national attention and to provide a platform for emerging artists and designers in both the Music and Fashion industries and to grow the Retail Marketplace into a world-class exhibition area for both designers and music vendors.”
