One UC alum is proudly starting a new bridal business, Imbue by JRusso. It’s not your typical bridal boutique, though. It’s all online.

“Imbue by JRusso is a modern bridal brand that offers a fresh perspective on bridal fashions, and this brand includes non-traditional gowns and multi-cultural inspiration,” says owner Jena Russo. “Our mission is to give brides the best possible online shopping experience. We strive to make your experience with us as enjoyable as a visit to a brick-and-mortar store.”

The inspiration behind Imbue by JRusso started when Russo did her senior capstone project on bridal fashions. Through the project, she realized a niche need for an online boutique platform, designing for nontraditional brides.

To help enhance the experience of the bride, Imbue by JRusso offers a comprehensive sizing guide that will help brides feel confident in the size that they choose. “We also provide a list of alterations specialists in different cities who we recommend to make their gown fit perfectly,” says Russo. “All of these little things enhances the experience that the customer has, and makes the brides feel more comfortable ordering something online that will have a major influence on their lives.”

Another aspect that makes Imbue by JRusso unique is that Russo creates and designs to a very limited number of gowns, and every design is specifically created for each client. “This ensures that every gown that comes out of my studio is something as unique and beautiful as the bride who will wear it,” Russo says.

The price point for an Imbue by JRusso design ranges from $1,000-5,000, but can be more or less for custom projects. The process of creating and ordering your design is simple, says Russo.

  • Step 1: Purchase the gown.
  • Step 2: Measurements of the bride are taken to determine the size that the bride will need.
  • Step 3: The process of the dress being made begins, and it takes about 6-8 weeks for the gown to be created.
  • Step 4: Once the gown is completed, it is shipped to the bride. After a week a team member will contact the bride to ensure she received the dress and a follow up will be made to help her determine how to make the gown fit perfectly.
  • Step 5: Russo has made contact with alterations specialist across the country, and the bride is given a list of them for her alterations.
  • Step 6: The alterations take place.

“I want for my brides to feel as though they are getting even more personal attention from Imbue than they would choosing from any other shop,” Russo says.
