Fashion trends are fun to follow but expensive to keep in your closet. That’s why Susan Gilpin and Amber Lundy, launched their new online women’s fashion boutique, Pink Slate Boutique.
Officially open for business in August of 2013, Gilpin and Lundy created Pink Slate Boutique, in hopes of carrying the clothes and accessories that’ll boost a woman’s confidence by being both on-trend and on-budget. “We decided to open an online boutique to be able to reach women who either didn’t have time to go out searching for the best price and newest styles or who simply didn’t have access to them,” Lundy explains. “We feature quality brands and accessories in an assortment of styles that is made to fit the personality of any woman.” Pink Slate Boutique is predominantly set up as an online boutique but is also made available at various festivals, events and private shopping soirees.
“We search various companies and shop for the best quality and the best prices,” Lundy explains, “We are constantly looking for vendors who supply us with this. We ask our customers what they want and then choose to introduce or eliminate certain brands, styles and sizes.”
Pink Slate fully relies on customer feedback, suggestions and sales reports to be the inspiration behind what designers they choose to carry. “We believe that any woman wearing Pink Slate will be noticed in a crowd and will always receive compliments,” Lundy adds.
What makes Pink Slate so unique? According to Lundy, it’s their customer service. “Not only have customers been pleased with the level of customer service but they have also appreciated Pink Slate’s bold products at inexpensive prices,” she explains. “We strive to focus on building relationships with our customers. We have developed a message of positivity and empowerment for our customers and are fostering partnerships with other companies and organizations which focus on social good and giving.”
Pink Slate Boutique offers purses, clutches, statement necklaces, earrings, bracelets, dresses, jackets, tops and bottoms for both every day and a night out on the town. Sizes range from Small to Large. Pink Slate also carries Curvy Plus in sizes XL to 3XL. Prices range from $7 to $50.
Growth for Pink Slate has come at a steady, progressive pace, Lundy says. The online boutique has a wide range of approaches to grow the business from free shipping to swag bags, to business cards and blogger collaborations. “Our social media presence in particular has been the foundation for maintaining steady growth for Pink Slate,” she adds. So far Pink Slate has been featured www.indailyfashionista in addition to multiple fashion blogs nationwide. “Most recently, Pink Slate was featured in a local fashion show, the Eve Center Cupcakes and Cocktails 4 Fashion Show alongside Marshall’s and BCBG products,” she says.
Pink Slate will be hosting a spring and summer Sip and Shop event in the near future that allows local customers, family and friends the opportunity to socialize and shop the boutique in person. “Who knows what the future holds. We would love to expand into a brick and mortar boutique in the future,” she says, “We would love to do this on a bigger level, but for now we are happy to be able to concentrate on supplying the best customer service we can.”
