Ever searched a store for the perfect shoe to no avail? Been caught wearing the same outfit as someone else at an event? T’marie Hilson, founder of Portia Renee E-Boutique can help you avoid these formidable fashionista fails.
Inspired by a passion for fashion and years in the modeling industry, she started customizing her clothing for fun. Hilson later turned that passion into a profession and began customizing shoes and clothing for clients.
Today, she takes orders and distributes merchandise through an online store where you can find clothing, accessories and customized shoes. “I want to create a look with unique shoes and funky fab clothing that will make you stand out,” she explains.

Portia Renee E-Boutique, named after Hilson’s daughter Portia Renee, went live in November 2012. Since the launch, T’marie’s designs have been featured at several events: at the P&G Mardi Gras in Sharonville, The Westin Hotel’s Black History Exhibit in downtown Cincinnati, the Beauty and Barber Expo at the Sharonville Convention Center, and the Cincy Chic Wearable Art Fashion Show in July.
The Portia Renee E-Boutique has been so successful that Hilson recently signed a lease for a storefront in Cheviot, and is set to open on October 19, 2013.
While Hilson will sell ready-to-wear items at the store, she’s happy to have a brick-and-mortar home for her customization business. She specializes in the dying and embellishment of shoes and accessories for any occasion such as weddings, proms or birthdays. Clients have the option of bringing in their own items, or selecting from Hilson’s options. Designs range from $25 to $150, depending on the time and materials involved.
Hilson says the boutique will carry funky, chic and even some vintage clothing hand-picked from manufacturers all over the world. Aside from apparel, you’ll find shoes and accessories with sizes running from 0 to 24 and shoes up to size 13. In the future, Hilson says, Portia Renee Boutique will host in-store Sip n Shop events and fashion shows as well as pop up shops around the city.
