More than 300 attendees joined forces with fabulosity at Krombholz Jewelers in Montgomery to raise funds for The Eight Days & One Hour Foundation and the Steven Jason Morsch Nursing Scholarship. The foundation and scholarship were both created by a local family after losing their grandson after only eight days and one hour of life. The family gained such a great appreciation for the nurses who helped them through that difficult time, so they created these ways of giving back to the profession.
"Our family was certainly pleased with the financial results of the event. However, we were truly gratified that so many people from all walks of life gave of their most precious possession: time,” says Steven Smith, a representative of the family. "As we discovered in the brief life of our grandson Stephen, we can’t take time for granted."
The funds are raised through ticket sales (you can buy yours here), a silent auction, raffles, gem draws, and proceeds from beverage sales. Food by the bite will be provided by Stone Creek Dining, and $1 of every drink will go to the fund.
There will be swag bags for the first 200 RSVPs, live music by the Snidely Brothers and freeze modeling of the latest fashion trends from Black and White Exchange.
Inside will feature fashions inspired by the royal wedding, which will be taking place April 29, the day of the event. (Click here to read about a Princess Diana-inspired piece Krombholz Jewelers recently created for a client!) Outside, under a white party tent, will feature cocktail dress fashions, the band and a photo booth where attendees can snap pics together.
So, mark your calendar for April 29, 7:30-11pm, buy your tickets in advance, and start planning your white "cocktail chic" outfit paired with a fabulous piece of jewelry of course!
