Buckhead Mountain Grill in Newport is fairly priced, spacious and you have an awesome view of the river.

Also, Doris and Sonny’s Homelike Restaurant in Harrison is a good ol’ fashioned mom-and-pop diner that serves up the best goetta and homefries. Perhaps it’s the small town life I love, but it’s cozy, quaint and the black and white photos of the Great Miami River and mill makes you imagine what life must have been like before things moved so fast.

And, of course, there’s something about LaRosa’s veggie topper that makes my mouth water.

One of my all-time favorites is the Prima Vista, it overlooks the city from the West Side’s point of view. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is great for a wonderful glass of wine, great seafood and an italian dish. My husband and I have celebrated our anniversary there yearly for 14 years. You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes. As I always say, be careful about portions, but not when you go to a nice restaurant infrequently. Enjoy the moment!

York Street Cafe in Newport has a quirky atmosphere, fun events and a good psychic that comes in for their ladies nights in the summer.

Arthur’s Café in Hyde Park is the perfect place to enjoy a burger in the summer out on their patio.

Check out "who’s there" at Via Vite downtown. The posh interior and panoramic view of Fountain Square gives you a unique experience you just can’t get anywhere else.

Delight Thai Cafe Restaurant on Montgomery Rd. in Symmes township has amazing sushi. It’s a small place, but it’s cozy and their presentation is very nice.

Amor de Brazil Brazilian Steakhouse is really wonderful, too. You have to be a carnivore to really appreciate all it has to offer, but the salad/lunch bar they have is also yummy. Being Cincy Chic‘s "Brazilian Bombshell," I do know good meat and Amor de Brazil is the place for it. It’s also a little less expensive than Boi Na Braza downtown.

There’s a great new place in Lawrenceburg called Sakura Japanese Steak House. It’s near the Argosy Casino. They prepare the food at your table and are very entertaining.

At Silverglades on 8th St. downtown, you can eat in or order from deli to go. They also cater and sell wine. All of their food is made fresh daily at the store. Great soups, home-cooked meals and fudge.

And being Cincy Chic’s resident Italian, I have to say, I love Buca Di Beppo in Rookwood Commons. Its huge portions are great for feeding a crowd. Bellisimo! Manga! Manga!

The Polo Grill has a cool atmosphere, great food, live music and the Wine Divas class.

I also love sushi. In my opinion, Teak Thai Cuisine and Sushi Bar – perched high atop the city in Mt. Adams – has the best sushi in Cincinnati.

Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse has the best steaks in town, with beautiful atmosphere, great service and fabulous desserts. In fact, I got a dessert shaped like a steak and potatoes meal.

    Ambar India
in Clifton has excellent Indian food,
Teak Thai Cuisine and Sushi Bar has the best Thai and UDF has the best milkshakes!

The Flying Pizza has the best New York City Style pizza. They have other items such as hoagies and calzones, as well as beer from Brooklyn, NY. That’s fitting because the owners and operators are from Queens, NY and very Italian. They are located in the Fields Ertel/Mason/Montgomery area.

Shanghai Mama’s has the best noodles in town. They are located downtown on 6th St., and are open really late on the weekends.

My husband and I like some mainstream places, such as J Alexander’s, which hands down has the best carrot cake on the planet. We also like Pacific Moon at Newport on the Levee. I love their Skinny Buddha filet mignon.

Our favorite new discovery is Detroit Joe’s on 9th St. in Newport. It doesn’t look very special from the outside but, it is. They have a moderately priced variety of items, including lots of daily specials. It’s one of those places all the locals know about, but you could drive right past it and not notice it.

Amol India in Clifton because of their top-notch food and friendly service. They also have an awesome discount if you’re an Entertainment cardholder.

When I’m in the mood for a tapas-style meal, I go to Latitudes Cafe (either in Milford or Anderson) and the Argentine Bean in Crestview Hills.

Aoi Sushi is the best place for sushi. It’s at Newport on the Levee, so you can have an evening of entertainment without having to get in your car. And, as a random side note, they have super nice bathrooms. But they can be a bit expensive, so I also satiate my sushi cravings at Pacific Moon.

Mesh Restaurant, off Union Centre in West Chester, is great for a professional lunch, get together or dinner. The menu is delicious.

The Melting Pot in Montgomery provides an awesome date night. Expect two to three hours for dinner because of the nature of a fondue meal. It’s perfect for quality couple time, and they have special menus for Valentine’s Day.

Carlo & Johnny on Montgomery Rd. has delectable food and an inviting lounge for drinks following dinner. It’s a good first date place.

Grandview Tavern & Grille in Fort Mitchell, Ky is a low key option. Similar to Carlo & Johnny without the expense. They offer a great wine list and unique "dinner for two" options. I love it there!
