Caitlin from styleNmotion is one of the girl bosses who will be at the Girl Boss Events Summer Event.

With warm weather here to stay, that means that summer markets will be plentiful for the next few months. From vintage markets to farmers markets, there are plenty of events throughout the city that allow you to shop with local vendors.

However, one local lady is launching her own summer shopping event to help showcase women-owned, small businesses from around the region.

Ashley Lindsey is the founder of Girl Boss Events, and is hosting the Girl Boss Events’ Summer Pop Up Launch. The Summer Pop Up Launch will be held on Saturday, July 14, from 11 am to 4 pm at the AC Hotel at the Liberty Center in Liberty Township.

“Girl Boss Events’ Summer Pop Up Launch is the place to be to shop, learn, and network with all women-owned small businesses from the Cincinnati area,” says Lindsey.

When asked what inspired her to launch a business like Girl Boss Events, Lindsey says the idea came to her after she started doing expos and markets as the owner of the small business Woodworks + Co.

“I started realizing that there are so many moms and just women in general who have launched their own businesses from the ground up,” says Lindsey. “I thought ‘why can’t we have a market specifically designed to encourage each other in our business endeavors as women,’ and thus Girl Boss Events was born. Most of what we ‘want’ or ‘need’ can be met by shopping local, shopping small business, and encouraging girl bosses along the way.”

Lindsey says the basis behind Girl Boss Events is creating a venue and platform for women to encourage each other in a non-competitive atmosphere.

“I know what it’s like to have two small kids at home, and wanting something for yourself, trying to make your business succeed, and it can be daunting,” she says. “So why not create this space where can all cheer each other on.”

The event on July 14 is free to the public, and Lindsey says that you can expect an open house-style event, where you can come and go as you please from 11 am to 4 pm. “Attendees will be able to browse and shop local small businesses and get to know some of the amazing and most talented Girl Bosses in the Cincinnati area,” says Lindsey. “We have a wonderful lineup of vendors for our launch event ranging from home decor, sweets and treats, wellness coaches, clothing boutiques, and more.”
