Twice a year, Cincinnati’s top boutique owners get together in a win-win situation — selling their merch while also raising funds for a worthy local charity. On July 20 through 22, the Cincinnati Boutique Sale will be at Hyde Park Plaza in the old Blockbuster, next to McDonalds.
The boutiques participating this time around include Couture Couture, Cha Cha’s, Chez Renee, Kate, La Silhouette, Morrison & Me, Otazu, Sara Benjamin’s, Soho, The Wardrobe, Silly Bean, Three French Hens and Trend Boutique.
Amy Fessler, owner of Soho Boutique, has created her business “as the place to shop for the best clothes for women in Cincinnati for day or night.” As one of the leaders of the Cincinnati Boutique Sale, Fessler is bringing that mentality to the event, which represents the best of Queen City boutiques.
Those wanting to preview the biyearly event can attend a party the night before on July 19 from 6 until 9 p.m. Advance tickets to the preview are $20 (or $25 for at-the-door entry), and these passes include beer, wine and a three-day pass to the event. To get advance tickets, guests can call (513) 490-5768.
The event, which started during the summer of 2007, aims to bring all of the best discounted designer goods to Cincinnati women and men together at the same time. Cincinnati Boutique Sale is predicated on the idea that the Queen City is a great place for fashionistas.
“Our group is based on the belief that our city’s has the best high-end, fashion-forward and locally owned boutiques. Cincinnati shoppers can come for one weekend only to see the very best that the city has to offer, without driving from place to place,” according to the website.
Guests at the Cincinnati Boutique Sale can give a $5 suggested donation to the Karen Wellington Memorial Foundation, which is for women who are living with breast cancer. The charity is dedicated to giving women with the disease gifts of fun and relaxation. These usually entail much-needed vacation time for afflicted women and their families. The foundation focuses on the women’s physical and emotional needs beyond the cancer.
