Mavis Linnemann-Clark has eaten her way through five continents and studied culinary arts in Italy.

Her passion for food runs deep and her vast experience of traveling encouraged her to bring recipes from all over the world right here to Cincinnati. “I’ve tried all of this amazing food from around the world and in big cities,” explains Linnemann-Clark. “There’s so much good food from everywhere else that you can’t find in Cincinnati, so I wanted to bring some of those culinary experiences here.”

Linnemann-Clark The Delish Dish in Feb. 2011 to merge her two greatest loves: food and hosting events. According to Linnemann-Clark, her mission with The Delish Dish is to create unforgettable events and celebrations for their clients by serving top-notch food, exceptional customer service and a presentation unlike anything they’ve ever seen.

What makes The Delish Dish unique? Menus are customized to fit the customer’s needs, Linnemann-Clark says. “So, if you have gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan requests, we can match them all,” she adds.

Linnemann-Clark says she also also goes above and beyond when it comes to service and hospitality. “We guarantees your event is one for the record books by coordinating china and equipment rentals in addition to floral arrangements and linens,” she explains.

The passion for giving customers an ideal event set-up comes from Linnemann-Clark’s mother, who always loved entertaining. “I took her love for the parties and wanted to give my own spin to the cooking, so now I’m hosting parties and doing the cooking,” she says.

Two months ago, Linnemann-Clark just launched a corporate menu to meet those unique needs and also expand her networking reach.

All this hard work is catching the attention of tastebuds across the Tri-State. Linnemann-Clark says that she started The Delish Dish in her home three years ago, has since moved into a new community space in Northern Kentucky, and the demand for more production space continues to grow.

“I’ve been in search of my own kitchen space,” explains Linnemann-Clark. “I’d really like to expand The Delish Dish and move into a 3,000-square-foot kitchen so I can start pushing out even more catering orders.”

In addition to catering and creating event experiences, Linnemann-Clark is also working on another venture: Made by Mavis, a jam and jelly line that she launched one year ago. “Everything is made from scratch,” she says. “All jams are made in small batches and I even due fun and unique flavors of jam. You’ll find Strawberry-Lemon, Pomegranate and even Pinot Noir jelly.”

The jars are just as fun as the jelly and jam inside of them, she says. “I have a cartoon version of myself on all of the jars,” Linnemann-Clark adds. “I even have a cardboard cutout that travels everywhere with me.”

One of Linnemann-Clark’s favorite things about running The Delish Dish is that everyday is different. She’s never doing the same thing twice and enjoys the change of pace and challenges that come along with running her own catering business. “It’s also a crazy-person business,” she jokes. “Ultimately, my favorite part is when everything comes together. Catering is more than just food; it’s a logistical thing. So, for me, I really love when an event comes together and there’s music, food, flowers and all of the people enjoying each other.”
