Front Page Chic Spotlight: Dig ‘N Play
A local mom recently opened a chic, visually-open indoor playland in West Chester where kids can play while parents can finally relax.
Cincy Chic: What is Dig ‘N Play?
Chrissy Jones, Founder of Dig ‘N Play: Dig ‘N Play is a chic and modern indoor playland with a visually open play area! Parents can finally relax and still ensure the safety of their children! Children will be challenged to think, interact, explore and have fun! From a HUGE custom sand table, to dramatic play, to inflatables, and even a three story play structure, we have an option for each one of your kids!! We cater to children 8 & under but older kids welcome!
Cincy Chic: What’s the inspiration behind it?
Jones: I am a mom first ! I have a 5-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter. I am a realtor so have been so fortunate to be able to flex my schedule and stay home with my children. We would frequent play lands and with each one I was finding the same things. I was chasing my children around, would lose them as they escaped from every side of the play structures, I would have to force my son to come into a toddler room with me so I could keep my kids together, only to have other moms give me dirty looks and I left more exhausted than when I got there AND I didn’t have the opportunity to have a conversation with friends or my husband. I took all the things kids seem to love and combined them into 10,000 square feet out open space!
Cincy Chic: Who’s behind the indoor playland?
Jones: I’m Chrissy Jones. I am born and raised in Cincinnati and currently live in West Chester, which is why we chose the location we did. My husband, Sonjay and I have 2 kids – Kyrie and Ariah. We are family-owned and run and I love that we can help our community thrive.
Cincy Chic: What all can kids find at Dig ‘N Play?
Jones: We have a huge custom sand table that children can stand around and “dig” in the sand with their hands. Hence the name Dig ‘N Play. We have dramatic play, dress ups, Legos, a 3 story play structure (with 1 way in and 1 way out to help parents to only have to stand guard at one entrance!) and we have inflatables on Friday nights and on the weekends!
Cincy Chic: What makes Dig ‘N Play unique?
Jones: We are screen-free (well 1 TV for the dads to keep an eye on the games!). The sand table is such a soothing play component and its the first in the area! This is such a great activity for kids with sensory disorders. We will be hosting a special night for children with Sensory Disorders the first Thursday of every month from 5-7 pm. RSVP is required to keep our numbers low.
Cincy Chic: Is there anything new on the horizon?
Jones: We will be expanding our menu to make fresh salads and sandwiches. We also have an entire outdoor space that we hope to expand to in the spring/early summer so we can truly create a fun family gathering space!
Cincy Chic: Where is Dig ‘N Play located?
Jones: We’re at 9405 Cincinnati Columbus Road in West Chester.
