Cincy Chic: Tell us more about Ruby’s Chocolates!
Melinda Mueller, Owner of Ruby’s Chocolates: Ruby’s Chocolates is a local family owned chocolate company that has a signature product of “Truffle Cakes.” However, Ruby’s is way more than just chocolate. We thrive on providing exceptional customer service, making our customers feel like they’re our one and only customer, while creating unique chocolates. Our goal is to provide happiness to others around us whether that’s our employees or customers.
Cincy Chic: What’s the inspiration behind the business?
Mueller: The inspiration is to create a product that tastes better than it looks. While at the same time the product is affordable for all demographics. We want the customers to feel the passion we put into our business! The love I have for my family (two boys) continues to drive my passion for my business and story.
Cincy Chic: Who’s behind Ruby’s Chocolates?
Mueller: I’m the owner behind Ruby’s. I’m also the lead chocolatier coming up with the signature truffle cake and other unique creations. My oldest son, Ali Sina Danesh, is the managing director who wears whatever hat is needed. My youngest son, Tommy Mueller, is a chocolatier who helps create the delicious treats and adds creativity to the business.
Cincy Chic: What kinds of chocolates do you create in-store?
Mueller: Our signature chocolate product is called a truffle cake. A truffle cake is similar to a cake pop, but more elegant and filled with a distinctive flavor. We offer the truffle cake in +20 flavors so we can cover everyone’s sweet tooth. We also offer so much more from no bake cookies, joysticks (chocolate covered pretzels wrapped in caramel), phatty cakes, fudge, turtles, buckeyes, chocolate covered bacon, brittle, bark, and much more. We can customize any order for any wedding, corporate event, bridal/baby shower, and birthday parties.
Cincy Chic: Where is your new storefront located?
Mueller: Our new location is in Oakley Square at 3923 Isabella Avenue in Cincinnati. Our flagship shop in Hamilton is focused mainly on production and retail, while our Oakley location will offer a more cafe-like atmosphere, where guests can sit and enjoy their treats together.
Cincy Chic: What makes Ruby’s Chocolates unique?
Mueller: Ruby’s is unique because all the chocolate is handmade with love. Everyone has had a truffle and cake, but how often can you say you had a truffle cake? We provide a chocolate experience like no other because not only is the chocolate amazingly delicious, but so is the ambiance! Ruby’s is a place where there will be many Instagram-worthy pictures! We want everyone to say “have you heard of the new chocolate store in town?”
Cincy Chic: Is there anything new on the horizon for Ruby’s Chocolates?
Mueller: We actually are introducing a new line at our new shop called phatty cakes. These are simply two small cakes layered together by our delectable icing. The phatty cakes will be offered in carrot cake, chocolate, cinnamon, red velvet, and possibly a few more flavors. The purpose behind the name is for people to love their body regardless of size. You can have your cake and eat it to.
Cincy Chic: Where can readers go to learn more and follow along?
Mueller: Readers can follow us on our website, Facebook, and Instagram. We also would love to see them in our new location enjoying chocolates, coffee, and our company!
