Chic Spotlight: SisFlips
Shop local and feel good with these soy wax candles from a one-woman show.

Cincy Chic: What is SisFlips?
Meg White, founder of SisFlips: SisFlips is a soy wax candle company that will soon be selling other ceramics and home decor.
Cincy Chic: What’s the inspiration behind it?
White: I have always loved candles, but I am allergic to basically everything! The paraffin wax that most candles are made from are a big contributor to allergic reactions to candles. I wanted to create a cleaner, more affordable version of my favorite candle so I did my research and decided to go with Soy Wax and clean scents.
Cincy Chic: Who’s behind the business?
White: It’s a one woman show! I handpick all the jars and hand pour the candles in my home.
Cincy Chic: When did you launch SisFlips?
White: I launched in 2015. I started by “flipping” furniture for people. I read a blog about having a “little” to sell along with the bigs. Not everyone goes to a market looking to buy a $200 dresser. But they will look to buy a “little.” It made perfect sense and within a year my littles started to outsell the bigs.
Cincy Chic: What products do you offer?
White: Right now we offer Soy wax candles in the famous “Volcano” scent. All our wax is made by USA Soybean farmers and our fragrance is part of the “clean scents” line. This means it is 100% phthalate free.
Cincy Chic: What makes SisFlips unique?
White: Anyone can make a soy candle. What sets ours apart is my obsession with design and decor. If you are going to have a candle that smells amazing you might as well put it in a beautiful jar or bowl. Actually, searching for the jars is my favorite part of the process. SisFlips is also super passionate about supporting local so we can give back locally. We have proudly donated 10-15% of sales at events to local Forest Hills Schools, Leukemia Society, and SEM Food Pantry.
Cincy Chic: Is there anything new for 2021?
White: Yes! So much. I am currently speaking to a new company opening up later this year in Northern Kentucky about becoming one of their featured vendors. Many of my go-to markets such as The O.F.F Market plan to reopen this spring/summer which I can’t wait to get back into. My biggest goal is to open my own brick and mortar home decor boutique and open it up to other talented local makers to help pay it forward. I have been lucky to be a permanent vendor at Juneberry Boutique in Anderson for the past year and I would love to follow in those footsteps of supporting other local vendors. We love cheering on our vendor friends and watching women businesses raising each other up. There is enough room in this world for all of us to succeed. SisFlips would not be where we are today without the unwavering support from other women owned businesses such as Juneberry Boutique, The O.F.F. Market and Ruffles and Rust to name a few.
Cincy Chic: Where can readers go to learn more and follow along?
White: To purchase any SisFlips candles you can always find them at Juneberry Boutique located at 1971 8 Mile Road in Cincinnati.
