Offering everything from a welcoming atmosphere and sense of community to eco-friendly building materials and wellness products, DEFINE Mind and Body helps their clients achieve sustainable health and happiness.
Originally launched in Houston by Henry Richardson, DEFINE will be opening its eighth location in Oakley in Spring 2014. Though this will be the first DEFINE location outside of the state of Texas, Co-Owner of the new Oakley location Mikel Quast believes Oakley will be the perfect area for DEFINE because of the innovative new businesses opening in the area, as well as the great energy of Oakley residents.
Besides Quast’s passion for working with children as a first grade teacher, she also claims to be an enthusiast for the DEFINE concept, the sense of community it brings and the mission of a balanced healthy lifestyle. “DEFINE body and mind’s mission is to educate people on how to become their absolute best,” Quast says. “We create an atmosphere that inspires results, fosters community and gives back to others in order to achieve sustainable health and happiness.” Joining Quast in bringing DEFINE body and mind to Oakley is Co-Owner Tallie Neltner, who according to Quast, will aid in inspiring and bringing positive energy to the Cincinnati community.

DEFINE will be offering a variety of classes that caters to a range of abilities and needs, but will primarily offer classes focused on body, revolution and mind. The first class offered is called DEFINE body, which balances 60-minutes of pilates, yoga, ballet and core strengthening to target all the major muscle groups in the body. A few other classes that will be offered are DEFINE revolution, 45 minutes of choreographed movements to high-energy music on a stationary bike, DEFINE mind, 60 minutes of gaining flexibility, refreshing the body and calming the mind, DEFINE body and mind, incorporates a little more stretching while still improving your strength, DEFINE xpress, a condensed version of DEFINE body that only lasts 30 minutes and DEFINE baby, a class focused on arms, legs, glutes and abdominals you can do while bonding with your baby.
“Our clients experience three main results from our classes: physical toning and sculpting of the body, mental clarity and release of stress,” Quast explains. “They will leave with an overall refreshed, re-energized and balanced feeling. Our classes are physically and mentally transforming but we offer our services in a fun and encouraging environment.”
What makes DEFINE stand out, according to Quast, is that DEFINE offers more than one type of workout so that DEFINE clients are able to achieve both their physical and mental goals. “With our core classes, body, revolution, and mind, individuals receive a balance of strengthening and lengthening each muscle group while also incorporating the cardio aspect,” she explains, “Clients will experience quick results both physically and mentally.”
The price packages for DEFINE classes begin at $20 for a single class and go up to $480 for a 30 pack of classes. DEFINE also offers private training for $80 and unlimited monthly packages starting at $150 and going up to $475, for the baby or bridal special that offers unlimited classes for three months.
DEFINE’s foundation is based on community and eco-friendliness so Quast says the Oakley DEFINE location will be completely involved in the community and continue to use materials geared towards better health, better living and being better for the environment. “Community helps create a sense of loyalty, trust and positivity for each person. We are all about lending a hand and giving back,” she says. “Each instructor on our team has their own unique talents and will be offering workshops in our studio.”
