Ehryn Cartwright opened Eyecare on the Square to serve her children and neighborhood |
The close-knit community of Mariemont recently welcomed a new neighbor, Eyecare on the Square, with open arms — and eyes, of course.
Owner Ehryn Cartwright opened the business in June 2013 at 6833 Wooster Pike. “My inspiration for opening my own practice was two-fold. Primarily, it was my children. But it also had a lot to do with being able to provide a service to friends and family in my neighborhood,” Cartwright says. “I had been practicing for several years outside of the Village of Mariemont, and while I loved that office, the community just didn’t feel like home. My family and I reside in Mariemont, so it just made more sense for me to practice there.”
Striving to provide each patient at Eyecare on the Square with quality eyecare, Cartwright set her sights on developing a beautiful office with state-of-the-art technology, a wide range of eyecare services and a selection of over 400 stylish ophthalmic and sunglass frames.
“We offer a wide range of services, including comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fittings for children and adults alike. We are well equipped to monitor ocular manifestations of many systemic conditions, including but not limited to diabetes, hypertension, muscular sclerosis and more,” Cartwright explains. “I am passionate about treating dry eye and improving not only my patient’s quality of vision, but their quality of life. We also love to help our patient’s select that perfect frame that suits both their style and their prescription.”
Eyecare on the Square is also home to the very first Optovue i-Fusion OCT to be installed in the country, which is used to diagnose eye disease and monitor its progression. “We use this in conjunction with our visual field perimeter, which helps us monitor vision loss,” she says. “So not only do we offer a wide selection of frames and contact lenses to choose from, but you can rest assured that we will be thoroughly monitoring the health of your eyes as well.”
In addition to using the best technology and offering a wide selection of eyewear Cartwright says that she also places a strong emphasis on one-on-one attentiveness with her patients. “If I’m told by the patient that their experience with us is the most comprehensive eye evaluation they’ve ever received, that is the greatest compliment for me,” Cartwright says.
According to Cartwright, Eyecare on the Square also does everything they can to help the patient utilize their healthcare benefits. “We accept most major health insurance providers and we will try our best to help you with your benefits. For those folks who do not carry insurance, we offer an out-of-pocket discount,” she says. “We also realize that eyewear is an investment. For that reason, we offer frames and lenses in a wide range of prices. We also offer a complete two year warranty on frames and lenses.”
With the holidays quickly approaching, Eyecare on the Square will be hosting several events and offering various specials. “We are encouraging anyone and everyone to bring us their old glasses they have just lying around. We will help these donated glasses find a home with someone less fortunate who needs the visual correction. Everyone who helps us ‘Share the Sight’ in November and December will receive a $20 gift certificate to use towards the purchase of new eyewear,” she explains. “Also, on November 19, we will be hosting a Tom Ford trunk show. Our frame rep will be bringing every frame in her collection, including Tom Ford, Mont Blanc, Swarovski and Roberto Cavalli and any frame purchased on that day will receive a 30% discount.”
Since the opening of Eyecare on the Square, there has been a significant growth in the number of patients who have joined the practice, according to Cartwright. She hopes that Eyecare on the Square can continue to welcome new patients, stay deeply rooted in the community and eventually expand to other locations.
