Kristy Brandabur, owner of Metamorphosis Holistic Wellness Center

Much like the name of the business, the Metamorphosis Holistic Wellness Center opened its doors April 2013 to transform the way people look at their health, fitness and well-being.

Feeling overwhelmed with the fitness, health, and wellness options out there? That’s why owner Kristy Brandabur focuses on providing a personal setting to help clients enhance their physical and mental well-being, while educating them on how to implement and sustain a healthier lifestyle that’s right for them.

When Brandabur decided to provide her services to the public, she had one main goal in mind,.“I wanted to open a space that could do it the right way by helping people get healthy, get fit, and it offer it all at low prices,” she explains, adding that she’s developed a passion for helping those in need through her 20 years of knowledge and experience in the health field.

What first started as training clients out of her home continued to grow as she came across an increasing amount of patients suffering from medical conditions. including fitness-related injuries. The driving force for Brandabur, though, was when she realized the majority of people were suffering from improper forms of exercise, such as yoga poses and required extensive rehabilitation.

That’s why Brandabur now conducts functional training at Metamorphosis Holistic Wellness Center, where she focuses on individuals who suffer from Arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, MS, Obesity, and Fibromyalgia. In addition, there are also rehabilitation sessions for those who were injured due to improper training and further educate clients on proper yoga practices.

Brandabur also makes house visits if a client is unable to come to the studio. “It’s not like work, it’s a pleasure and I genuinely love what I do,” she says, adding that her personal care and one-on-one sessions provide customers with a setting that makes everyone feel like they are part of a family. “I have seen people’s lives change,” explains Brandabur. “Women who were once overweight have never felt more beautiful now.”

Located in the Historic Columbia Tusculum area, Metamorphosis Holistic Wellness Center offers Spinning, Traditional Yoga, Mat Pilates, Reiki, Massage, and Personal Training just to name a few fitness classes. Classes are $5 per class and $10 per Spinning class, however, there also monthly packages that may be purchased.

Metamorphosis Holistic Wellness Center also carries an array of all-natural products, ranging from soaps, scrubs, candles, teas, jewelry, and scarves. All the soaps, scrubs, teas, and candles are handmade by Brandabur, using all-natural products. Also, many jewelry pieces carried at Metamorphosis are custom-made pieces from Brandabur’s sister who is a Breast Cancer survivor

Not only does Brandabur own and run Metamorphosis, she’s also a busy mom and a professor who teaches twice a week at University of Cincinnati and Fortis College. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Promotion and Exercise Physiology and a Masters in Medical Education from the University of Cincinnati and Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Some of her certifications include Personal Fitness Trainer, Body Mind and Fitness Coach, Holistic Life Coach, Registered Aromatherapist, Reiki Healer, Pilates and Yoga Instructor, and Meditation Practitioner.
