Cincy Chic: What makes Madison Avenue Bridal different than all the other bridal stores already available in Greater Cincinnati?
Ani Cole:
Madison Avenue Bridal is all about “Affordable Elegance”: Having the dress of your dreams with money left over for the wedding of your dreams. Starting your new life together as husband and wife can get costly, but that doesn’t mean that you should miss out on the gown that makes you feel like a princess. There are other affordable dress stores here in the area, but you either sacrifice quality or the buying experience. This is what sets us apart, because we offer all of the above.
Cincy Chic: What’s so special about the buying experience at your shop?
We believe that shopping for and finding your perfect gown should be an experience in itself. Through special business relationships we have with the manufacturers, we are able to have wedding dresses at costs that are within most budgets.

Cincy Chic: What’s a big trend in the bridal industry right now?
One of the biggest things we hear from new brides is that they want to personalize their wedding and make it uniquely their own. They want to glam up their dress, have a special tiara or a shabby chic veil.
That’s why we employ buyers to regularly travel to Paris and scour for very unique accessories that cannot be found elsewhere. We specialize in vintage jewelry, and have many options for the bride to make her0208_INSTORY_makebelieveball.gif dress and accessories perfectly fit her unique taste.
Cincy Chic: Why did you choose Covington to set up shop?

Cole: We originally were going to locate in The Reading Bridal District, but when a building became available in Covington we jumped at it. We have rehabbed a beautiful 100 year old building in an art deco style. I love the progressive feeling of Covington. I firmly believe that we are on the ground floor of the greatest renaissance of any city in this region.

Another plus of being in this area is that you can make a whole day of it with the restaurants and cafes all over Madison Ave. You can find most everything you need for your wedding in a two block radius. There is the Madison for your reception and the Covington Wedding Mall with all kinds types of vendors from DJ’s and photographers to travel agents, real estate, spa and beauty. There are also cake decorators and florists in the Covington Wedding District.

Cincy Chic: How are you getting the word out about Madison Avenue Bridal?
Cole: We are getting the word out about Madison Avenue Bridal in many ways. Of course, the Internet drives a lot of traffic to our Web site, but many of our efforts are grassroots. I am doing the bridal shows, such as Bridal Rama as well as Wendy’s. We are in The Cincinnati Dayton Bride and Groom Planner as well.
I cannot stress enough the value of networking and building relationships with other businesses and groups in your area. You never know where your next customer, vendor or partner may come from, and word of mouth advertising is trusted more than any other type. This is another reason why I love Covington so much. the people are great and they all seem to want to try to work together instead of compete against each other. We have been made to feel so welcome here.

Cincy Chic: What’s your hope for the future of Madison Avenue Bridal?
We hope to build a reproducible brand and open other locations in growing markets. It’s entirely possible with our strong business relationships and resulting affordable prices. In the near future though, we would like all the brides out there to make an appointment with us or just stop in and browse.
